They built their name off of Iron Man 1 and RDJ and modest mild success.

However, it is really getting repeat business. I'm guessing 110% Friday and a 3.25 IM. The question is whether it crumbles by Thursday. How much could it crumble? Even a 10% drop today (5% bigger than Furious 7), 35% drop on Wednesday (4% bigger than Furious 7, and 10% drop on Thursday puts it at 7.9m. With your numbers that puts its weekend at 54m or a 67.5% drop. That would be bad but not the 70% some are indicating. And that seems like a worst case scenario. I'm fairly confident it's Thursday will be above 8.2m and really don't see it dropping more than 65% (58m) this weekend. Less than 2% a day takes it to 70%. I just know that movies that drop over 65% often are not noticed on Sunday or Monday. I remember how people were talking about TFIOS's great Monday hold.

This is sooooooooo depressing BvS having to match F7 to have a descent BO instead of bigger movies like Avengers 1-2, JW or SW7.

Magnus wrote: chips right to an extent. Outside of IM1, none of Marvel films till Avengers were universally considered more than just "solid" (I like CA1 a lot but it has a fair amount of people who don't dig it). Granted they had better reception than MoS or BvS but people sometimes act as if MCU was built off all these great movies when it was really just one movie and a bunch of solid-to-below average flicks. I don't think anyone is saying MCU is ultimate greatness. It just feels like it has been better thought out and BvS seems like a desperate DC attempt to get into the comic universe game.

 Re: Monday Numbers (March 28)
Looking at the other drops I'd say it is showing severe frontloading. It's drop is far greater than Deadpool, which doesn't have its family audience. The only one close is LHF, which lacks the spring break boost. It's behind Furious 7, as a percent of the weekend, even though many more schools are out and it probably appeals to more families. +65% is almost certain.
With all the schools out, I'm going with about 103% Friday.

Had they made $65m like 'they thought they'd get' this guy probably would have been the first out of the job.

 Re: Monday Numbers (March 28)
I'm guessing he meant WW, but still. If it made $320m WW OW, using the same breakdown Domestic/OS it would be $126.5m OW in the US. That would not fly at all.

With all the schools out, I'm going with about 103% Friday. Agreed. It also had the worst hold in the top 12, whereas F7 managed to have a better decline than several films at the time, and comparable films to last year's Easter Monday all held better overall.

Phony.

 Re: Monday Numbers (March 28)
However you cannot discount how much IM1 did to open people to the MCU.
It was a film that won the good will of audiences and allow the films to have a base allow it to expand to what it is today.
MOS was suppose to be IM1 and they sort moved to quick to TA already and have stumbled imo.

 Re: Monday Numbers (March 28)
Yeah, okay, it was about WW. I should have read the link. But it did open almost everywhere, so screw this guy anyway.
Concerning MCU. Would Avengers done the same, had they not had all those good-to-mediocre movies in 2008-2011 period? Probably not. They established their heroes and made, well, a cinematic universe.
