Re: The Official Movie Release Date Schedule
Some assorted release date changes; The Spike Jonze-directed Where the Wild Things Are is back on Warner Bros.' release schedule. The adaptation of Maurice Sendak's children's book is now set for a release on Oct. 16, 2009. For next year, Richard Kelly's horror film The Box, starring Cameron Diaz and James Marsden, was moved back up six months to its old date of March 20, 2009. The Todd Phillips comedy Hangover, starring Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms, is now scheduled for June 12, 2009, where it faces the proposed The A-Team and Eddie Murphy's Nowhereland. Two months later, Final Destination 4 was moved back a week to Aug. 21, 2009. The summer following, the Zack Snyder-directed animated-adventure Guardians of Ga'Hoole now opens on July 23, 2010. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=48577

I was certain they'd make "The Shack" before "The Box". This is all to coincidental with his passing me in posts... damn you!

Re: The Official Movie Release Date Schedule
Yeah agree about Star Trek. They'll be able to save face if they move it back a week. Good idea.
Its sad we wont get A-Team in 09. I think its a given now as noone has even been cast yet. If they get cracking - a late summer release may actually be better for it and the summer.

Re: The Official Movie Release Date Schedule
I dont get that scheduling from Universal. Why are they moving LOTL and F&F a week from each other? Wouldnt it be wiser to spread them apart considering they are from the same studio and could eat up each other in such a tight span. As long as Will Farrell harasses Chaka, Im fine with the film

With that release date, I really can't see Star Trek breaking out to any extent. I mean. c'mon, that release date. The whole thing strikes me a bit like another Poseidon, maybe a bit better thanks to a fanbase.

I think June 09 (against Land of the Lost) or late July would be better for it.

Star Trek isn't going to be big no matter what release day the choose...

Tyler Perry is in Star Trek which should guarantee at least $18M by itself, right?

I just dont see anything wrong with the old release dates and that theres a good portion of the LOTL that are in the same age bracket as those who will see F&TF. I mean its a Will Farrell film and a comedy bastardization of a nostalgic series like Stasky & Hutch

Re: The Official Movie Release Date Schedule
Hannah Montana - The Movie will now open on the 10th of April (original date: May 1st) Sandra Bullock's The Proposal was pushed up a week. It will now open on the 12th of June. And finally, Old Dogs was pushed back around 7 months. It will be released on the 25th of November (original date: 10th of April).
I'd say that's a stupid move for The Proposal, as 4 other films will open on the same day. Wolverine will be even bigger now.

Re: The Official Movie Release Date Schedule
Hahahaha Dragonball is so fucked. It has to deal with 4 other movies and out of those two have big names and can easily beat it. Hannah Montana and the other movie starring Seth Rogan. Both these movies will open $25+ million. I think I will have to make my dragonball club better i.e. $40 million total domestically.

Astroboy - October 23, 2009 http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=49077Im looking forward to this but would have preferred a summer or November release date. I guess its not too bad though.

Re: The Official Movie Release Date Schedule
Are those official?
Perfect for Iron Man 2.
Fine date for Pirates 4, but is anything known being released July 2011? Though I'm doubting HP7 Part II opens in May (like it's been rumored) now if these dates stay the same. Or if WB decided to open it in May anyway, it's one of the worse release dates ever. Maybe Pirates in late May, Potter 7:II in July would be better though, hmm. Just as long as Iron Man 2, Pirates 4, and HP7:II aren't all in May.

Re: The Official Movie Release Date Schedule
great date for iron man, ill believe pirates 4 n especally the avengers when i see it.
i guess Bat 3 wont be coming in 2010 as i expected.
if wb had balls, theyd go bat 3 with a december release.
500 million would be a lock.

I think The Hobbit and TDK2 could coexist with one another. They sure will be monsters but they are also completely other films, driven by two separate fan boys.

Re: The Official Movie Release Date Schedule
Two blockbusters cannot coexist in one month. Unless they're expecting sub-$350 million grosses for both, it'd be dumb to release them so close. I'm sure they won't, though.

Re: The Official Movie Release Date Schedule
Yeah, '011 is going to be out of control. I think SM4 and Pirates 4 are going to have big drops, from a combination of the competition, bad WOM for the third, and the fact that people aren't accustomed to 4ths. If SM4 is released in that hellhole without Tobey, Dunst, or Raimi, I could really see it uber bombing.
