Kick-A** got an A- but didn't even get strong legs like The Dark Knight.

Also, the Karate Kid got a B- on movies yahoo but that was a sleeper movie along with The Ring that got a B-. Knocked Up only managed a B from users despite critics giving it an A- but that still had long legs.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - 2010
Just an idea but we could have a thread in BO Bash devoted to just aggregate WOM, since the Internet Buzz Tracking Thread and Yahoo Review Thread aren't too frequented anymore, and some people post WOM in Screen Counts & Crowd Reports where it is not a perfect fit.
We could report Yahoo, RT, Metacritic, IMDB, Cinemascore, and others for comparison. Just an idea but might be a nice and more organized way to do this.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - 2010
@bl1222 It's not only about the grade per se. You have to look at the genre / rating of the movie, etc. You can't look at the original TKK rating. That makes no sense. Also Yahoo Movies grades tend to fall with time. When it came out Knocked up had B+ ( here). The Ring as a horror movie also has that horror stigma to overcome. It's not easy for horror movie to get good grades on the internet. Just look at the Cinemascores for horrors. For the most part they're way worse than they should be. So B- (and probably a B/B+ when it came out) is a good score for a horror. Let's look at Alice. When it came out people here desperately claimed that it will have lousy legs. The reception was mixed, the reviews too. But Yahoo grade was A- and I thought then that there's no reason to expect rather average or bad legs for a PG-13 flick with that good of a grade. And in the end Alice probably had one of the most impressive runs so far this year. And TKK falls in the same category as Alice for me. If Sony said that it had the best testing out of any of their movies in five years, then I expected a much better reaction than a starting B-.

Well, we don't do b.o. out of yahoo anymore, but the grades are somewhat useful...

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - 2010
I too thought we can gave up on these...though it is always good to predict legs for some of the movies if not all....thanks mark Tangled only 36 reviews and good was expected. I thought on Yahoo boards it might not have good reviews which is good for its legs. Burlesque should do fine this holiday season. Very very surprised with Love's ratings. Faster is a meh
