I agree. April is better for it. Of all the films that should have moved - this wasnt the one. That September date will change also. No way it will go up against The Brave One.

It's good that April is finally clearing up and this got out of there, but I'm also not sure where else it could go (though the 9/28 date is good if The Brave One leaves it)....October is pretty filled (unless they went with 10/19 or 10/26) November and December are booked. I was thinking the last weekend in July, but Bourne would kill it the next weekend. Could May 11th have worked?

Quote: After a successful research screening in Sacramento, the studio has opted for a September 28 release, hoping that an aggressive screening program will bring in broader audiences than a typical action-adventure film would lure.
Starring Foxx (an Oscar winner for "Ray"), Jennifer Garner and Chris Cooper, the film from director Peter Berg centers on an elite group of FBI agents sent to Saudi Arabia to investigate a deadly terrorist attack. Universal domestic marketing president Adam Fogelson said that keeping "Kingdom" on April 20 would limit the potential box-office upside of the film. No film, he said, with the exception of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," which opened April 21, 2002, grossed more than $90 million when released in April, after the Easter holiday.
"It's really important that we have as much time as possible to expose people to this movie," Fogelson said. "We put it in a corridor where we can increase the upside."
It's not like September is that much better. Rush Hour, Remember the Titans, Sweet Home Alabama and Double Jeopardy are the only September releases that passed $100m in the past ten years. I doubt The Kingdom is next, although it should still pull in solid numbers. I think it can gross around $60-80m.

Cuba Gooding Jr.
At least Murphy had the brains enough not to make THAT sequel, heh.

Smart move, now going against Grindhouse. April 6th has become the new April 27th (7 films....three family films, two comedies, and two horrors ).
Why won't anything move to March 9th? There's only one film there (300) and it could really use a comedy, family film, or one of the many thrillers coming out.

3:10 to Yuma has been moved to 2008.
I dont know why the studios are completely bypassing March 9 either. 300 will be BIG - but surely another film could survive.
Moving The Reaping a week later is silly. That would have been ideal for January actually.

Cant beleive Evan Almighty is the only film of the summer to have no film open against it!!! Die Hard should move up against it.

This just goes to show that no matters what happens, Uwe Boll will not die. I love it.

Looks like Alien vs. Predator 2 is 2007's Christmas horror flick. I have a feeling that it might get moved to 2008.
Also, The Weinstein Company is releasing an animated movie called Igor on 10/24/08 (two weeks before Madagascar 2).

AVP2... haha. Christmas. That's ridiculous.
Is Hitman the one I think it is? The one based on the video game?

WOW!!! The Release scheds are going crazy this week.
Still reeling from the Mummy's choice of release date. Not good but ok.
August 08 needs something big - Hellboy aint big enough.
Im now fairly certain Wolverine wont make it in 08.
The Wolf Man opening in Nov -just helps to make Nov 08 on of the biggest months ever! Bond, Potter, Wolfman, Madagascar.
