I just want him to hit the two and get it over with. I almost think he's doing this on purpose just so his career can have one last fleeting moment before he drifts away.

Well its been assured to happen for awhile now and I just want him to hit it already. And even though I'm not the biggest fan of him, I just want A-Rod to get another 257 as quick as he can.

that was a helluva swing too! took some skill over his muscle! nice piece, barry :good: :(

im just a little mad...it SHOULD be ken griffey doing this right now instead of barry...and instead of steroid freak; basbeball tarnisher doing; griffey would be reviving the national passtime. But no. :tears: :tears:

:whaa: :whaa: I tend to doubt it...he was challenging bonds record at the same size hed always been.

i dont even hold roids against mcgwire; him not being in the hall is B.S.

1. 3 times as many pitcher took roids as hitter. How many homers did big mac hit off roiding pitchers?

but my biggest argument..

2. Mcgwire breaking the record was inevitabloe, from his first season in the bigs. why?

One of the main arguments suporting mac's roid use was that as a rookie, he was a stick who got huge. Ok, Ill give you that. Well, how many homer did big mac hit first rookie season? 49, record. Impressive. But-he got HURT the 2nd half.

How homers did big mac hit the first HALF of his rookie season?

34.

Big Mac was on pase to SHATTER the record ever since he was a rookie, when he was stick skinny. It was just a matter of time before he put together 2 huge halfs like that. Seeing that has to make one question how much roids REALLY helped him, if he was able to do that when he before he was on them. 34 x 2 is 68; so thats what he was on pace for. Roids added 2 extra. Big deal.

Griffey never grew 6 inches in circumfrance in every part of his body.

Honestly the fact I feel nothing for this shows how much I hate the fact this record is being broken. Even when McGuire and Sosa were breaking the season records, I was incredibly excited. Ichrio breaking the hits record, Gagne's epic streak of consecutive saves were great momments in baseball to me. But this, this hallowed record. The most sought after record, every generation has had there record chaser. And in mine it was broken, but I don't care. Maybe it's just the shock of the momment, but this record may not be touched again in my lifetime, but I don't care. And even though I really don't like A-Rod either, I pray he doesn't get injured and ten years from now. #7whatever is hit.

i was watching live; yeah it was exciting. I think the fact that none of the other players from wash shook his hand says volumes...when mcgwire hit 62, he got high 5's from everyone of the opposing team.

this should be ken griffey and we should lal be freaking out :( :(

p.s. COM EON SOX y is drew in for willy mo???

If Griffey had only stayed in Seatle and also not gotten injured soo much. :(
At least he's close to 600 homers. :)

he stays healthy hell get past ruth with an outside shot at bonds.

hell get 40-45 this season, and sit around 605. He hits homers due to his swing, so if hes healthy hell be hiting em for a while. If he can pump out for 4 more 30 homer seasons hed be around 725. If those are 35-40 homer seasons ala this year; hed be around 750.

Its still within reach; and with rumors of yankees trying to get him, he could DEF. do it at the park.

He's turning 38 in November. I say he has 2 good seasons left in him.
I don't see him playing past the '09 season.

doesnt matter. He doesnt hit homers because his bodies so good. Same reason manny Ramirez is gonna end very up on the list as well, baring no early retirement. they hit homers cause of their swing.

Was there as big a mob trying to catch that one like last night, or was it a little less hectic?

I just caught it on the news. It landed in the cove where there was practically no one there. All one guy had to do was paddle up the ball and he got it. No one else was near him. I guess the ballpark and water will be packed for the last home game of the year, since that will probably be the last game Bonds plays.

You don't think he's just going to retire at the end of this year? He's got his record, what else does he have to play for? A championship? He'd have to go to the AL for that, and there aren't many contenders who have an open DH spot, except for the Yankees who might be getting rid of A-Rod and Giambi. Actually, with that short porch, that'd be a good fit for him.
