Yay for Venus. The way she's playing and the stat that Ted mentioned where Venus has only lost one player during her career on centre court matches was pretty nice, so I'm all for Venus winning this tourney but it's still tough having to play b2b matches due to not doing matches on Sunday and not having a freaking roof yet in case of rain which it practically does every freaking year.
Sad for Serena. I really wanted her to continue but she's run into damn Justine again and even then Justine wasn't playing fantastically but you can't just be giving so many points away with UEs and that freaking slice backhand she kept trying.
Boo for Justine. Just because she goes and beats my favorite player twice in grandslams now. Grrr. And I'm so sick of her Allez shouts at the face of the opponent all the time.

Maybe the women should start doing the lawnmower starter like Hewitt does. Less vocal, but equally if not more annoying.
Serena said that she was at 40% for the match. I know she wasn't at 100, and I know she never likes to give credit to her opponent for her loses, but if she really believes it it's not going to help her in the future. If you think all you have to do is execute better, you assume that tactically you're correct. Sometimes that's not the case, and Serena's not the dominant force she once was, I don't think she can afford to just try and power through everything.
But whatever, Serena's unbeatable she can only beat herself, and Richard Williams isn't crazy.

Women's Semifinals are set:
J. Henin [1] BEL v. M. Bartoli [18] FRA
A. Ivanovic [6] SRB v. V. Williams [23] USA
It certainly looks like we will be seeing a rematch of the 2001 final with Justine taking on Venus for the title on Saturday. If so Justine will have made six straight grand slam finals. Henin's road is easier than Venus's, Henin played Bartoli at the Wimbledon warm tournament Eastbourne and beat her 6-1 6-3, and I expect a similar scoreline tomorrow.
Ivanovic saved 3 match points getting to this semifinal and has played well however Venus has been playing better and has more weapons than Ivanovic. I'd be surprised if Venus drops a set on her way to the final.

I don't normally root for Venus Williams.... but Kuznetsova's hair... deserves her to be eliminated.

After watching the Hewitt vs Djokovic match, I can safely say comparing Hewitt's grunts to the likes of Sharapova, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Kuznetsova is like comparing an oscilating fan to a lawn mower. Even in the 5th set, I barely hear anything. While those women do it on almost every single point, especially late in a match. Even if it's a little tap, they just tap the ball with their racket, they still scream like they had just torn their acl. It is really. really. really annoying.

I'll go with destiny and history. Destiny in that Venus has barely played all year and crappy at best yet she's a step away from winning her Fourth Wimbledon. History in that she is 49-7 at Wimbledon and has only lost to one person on Centre Court at Wimbledon...her sister and has owned Justine once already in a final here.
Venus for the win! 6-3 6-3

Venus lost to Steffi Graf on Centre Court in 1999
I wouldn't really call being taken to a third set by Justine owning her. Yes in that final set Justine was bagelled, but to own someone I think of Serena at this years AO final. And I would really not look to that match for any indication of how a possible final would go in 07. 6 years is a long time in tennis, and Henin's forehand was virtually non-existant then, where as now it is a weapon. If they both make it to the final, I would pick Venus in three and I would be happy either way.

"Graf, who is two short of Martina Navratilova's record of nine singles titles, overcame Williams 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 in a compelling Centre Court duel that included four rain delays"
I see. That's what I get for listening to NBC and Ted's stats. It seems they meant in center court finals then. Not as compelling a stat anymore but I still like Venus's overall history at wimbledon.

As opposed to all those non-centre court finals? Heh. I think they may have been going for 'in this century' with that stat, and yeah - it's never really a great idea to listen to Ted Robinson.

Henin not being a Wimbledon champ yet is the reason I give Venus the edge. That "gotta win Wimbledon" pressure getting to her head outweighs determination, this major giving her goosebumps is the reason she hasn't won here yet.
I wouldn't count out Ivanovic in the semis though. She's been playing quite well. Two straight finals would solidify her as a "future star" among the press for sure.

This Roddick match has been very exciting, I really want to see a fifth set.
Bartoli vs. Williams in the Ladies Final tomorrow. Who would have thought.
What has gotten in the air the last hour and a bit that has made people from France play exceptionally better than before?
Yay 5th set. That's gotta be like 70 winners for Gasquet.

Gasquet had 93 winners and only 29 unforced errors. A +64 differential. Wow.

What's up with Henin? Not being able to win at Wimbledon... so random
Bartoli's post-match interview is classic... "Well uh... I saw Pierce Brosnan in the crowd, he my favorite actor, so I decide to play tennis hard so I see his reaction and impress!"
A-Rodd... no comment. Gasquet's backhands and return game was so much better, he beat him in the same way Federer does except less dominating, by playing creative and turning the smash power game against him

What a surprise losing to Bartoli. Yay for Venus winning her fourth and boo for the seeding committee putting her so low. Screw the rankings instead of giving her the opportunity to break her own record of lowest seed to win. Also, I was never really annoyed by her "yelling" during shots until someone mentioned it here and I was slightly distracted by it early on.
Poor A-rod...or how about Forget A-rod. He'll never win another championship again. He just isn't complete and his post match interviews are ridiculous to listen to. You blew the match...just say it like it is instead of beating around the bush about it.
Roger v Nadal in the final...soon to be...I'm actually a little worried about Roger having to face Nadal here now. I think all the pressure is gonna be on Federer in that match.
It was cool to see Richard Williams congratulating and consoling Bartoli's dad too.
