The women's side is picking up, Ivanoic did disappointed, but gettig there was good, so I think if once people get to Henin, if they don;t suck we'd be good. Mauresmo winning last year was was big, so its there.
Federer chasing the French is exciting, how long he can dominate the other majors as he tries for that which elludes him? Will Nadal start challenging him more at the other majors? Damit Federer, another year....*Sigh*

I kind of like the predictability that it's going through. I want to see the big stars win and win majors rather than being upset early on by unknowns. I'd rather see some history and building of hall of fame resumes than see an unknown or less known player win a major at this point. Now, when my player (Serena) loses in a major I'll be bummed but since Henin won this past one and went on to win it was far more enjoyable to be than if Ivanovic had somehow won the match. As for Fed, I hope he dominates until next year and gives it another go at the French because I think as fans we're due for a Grand Slam winner or at least a holder of all four majors at once on the men's side.

Wimbledon starts on Monday.
Roddick, Blake, Gonzalez, Safin (potential 3rd with Fed) get unlucky and are in the same half as Federer.
Justine and Serena get unlucky and could face each other in the quarterfinals.
Monday will see action from Federer and Sharapova among others.

Serena needs to improve her ranking; otherwise she is going to play Justin in the quarter all the time.

Wow it must really suck to play Henman at Wimbledon. Also why the hell is he running around his forehand when he's getting an unforced error 1/2 the time?

Roddick, meh, the sooner he is gone the sooner I can stop hearing about him. Blake's never beaten Federer, on grass its not hapening so to bad for him. Safin could the best chance to actually beat Federer, but he's also got the emotional stability and concentration of Jack Jack from the Incredibles, so you never know when he's going to show up play, and when every ball is flying into the stands.

I've seen all or a full set of the Roddick match twice already, and it's the first day.
It's going to be a long fortnight.

Henman managed to pull out his match suspended due to darkness yesterday 13-11 in the 5th set. Sad that it ended on a double fault from Moya.
Venus was also pushed to 7-5 in the 3rd, but her opponent really looked mentally fragile and there was some questionable calls late in the final set.
Other than that, nothing too interesting, no rain, that's a plus.

Im confused. Why is Roddick, the #3 seed on Federer's side?
I thought the whole point of seeding was to give the #1 player an easier route to the finals than the #2. Shouldnt the possible semi final be #1 vs #4 and #2 vs #3?

I guess they want to give Nadal an easier road to the finals so it is #1 vs #2. AS Federer will still annihilate Roddick. Seems like it is going against the whole idea of seeding, though.

For most sports it works like this, but not in tennis. In tennis they just put 1 and 2 on opposite sides, and then randomly draw 3,4. Then they randomly draw 5-8 and place them in each quarter. The top half has seeds 1,3,5 which is the hardest possible draw seedwise for Federer, Seed 5 in quarters, 3 in the semis.

They showed his (Roddick's) match twice today, once in full and another getting picked up in the third set. They also showed Sharapova again. You know who they haven't shown? The number one player in the women's game, neither of Henin's matches have been shown, short of possibly highlights (which I haven't seen), which while kind of expected for ESPN is upsetting.

Remember when Ljubicic was ranked 4th and we were all wondering why?

I do. I think he may have been ranked 3 at one point. Just goes to show how its Federer, Nadal, then everyone else. Though Djokovic has been doing really well lately, and Roddick seems to be more consistent.

A-Rodd is up two sets right now, should proabbly win the third. Ljubicic lost today, which means that A-Rodd will face Mathieu in the fourth round. Should be another win. He's got a pretty safe path to the semifinals.
Can't wait for A-Rodd v. Federer in the semis. Match I've been waiting for since the finals of the US Open.
Im guessing... Federer wins in 4 sets. Federer likes to give Roddick a set so he doesn't feel so bad afterwards. Such a nice guy.
