I mean, not really. Think about the cap space they save that all can be used on what should be a great free agency next year. Better then trading KG for two overpaid players and Bynum.

Well, more drama to this trade rumor.
Kobe supposedly contacted KG and said not to even bother coming to LA because he wants out of LA either way......f'in OUCH. I so hope this is true, how awsome to hear that Kobe is now raping the Lakers. How I hope the Lakers crumble into pieces.
Now KG is in talks to go to Nets.

Billups has opted out, will stay with Pistons if they can match the best offer he gets from another team. Probably wont be possible, there will be a few teams out there that are gonna make it rain and Pistons wont be able to match, it'll be like what happened with Wallace getting overpaid by Bulls.

Quote: Pierce's patience running out By Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports June 25, 2007
As much as Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge wanted a bigger return for Al Jefferson and the No. 5 pick in the flat-lined, four-team blockbuster trade proposal that died on Monday, little was done for the franchise's trampled image when Indiana's Jermaine O'Neal turned out to be one more star privately disclosing disdain over the prospects of playing for the Celtics.
First, it was Phoenix's Shawn Marion insisting that he didn't want to go to Boston.
Then it was Minnesota's Kevin Garnett.
And now it's O'Neal.
Here's the problem for Ainge: According to a league executive, Paul Pierce has finally told team management that unless the Celtics comes out of this week with a talented veteran co-star for him, they should expect him to make a public declaration soon after Thursday's draft that he wants a trade.
"Danny is under tremendous pressure, from inside and outside, to get a deal for someone done this week," one league executive said
OH SNAP.
This is ballistic.

I don't blame him if it's true. 90% of the blame lies with Pitino though.
Two of those players have one thing in common though. Boston didn't want them either, especially O'Neal.

Apparantley a Suns-Celtics-Wolves 3-way is the prime trade talk now, with Marion's distaste with playing in Boston being the kicker of whether it goes through or not. On RealGM boards someone came up with the probable proposal: Suns would get KG and give up Marion, Thomas, Atlanta's #1 next year, Celts would get Marion and give up #5, Green, Theo, Wolves would give up KG and get #5, Atlanta's #1 next year, Green, Thomas, Theo. That fits all the financial situation to the point, I'm sure there may be some other variation in there too, who knows. Only thing is Marion has an opt-out next year, so the Celtics would be kind of dumb to bring him there when he doesn't want it. But then again, if they don't, Pierce is probably gone, so... I also think that's kind of not enough for the Wolves, even though they'd be fucking stacked with draft picks with #5 and #7 this year, and two more top 10s next year if not top 5s, I think the management would be scared of trading KG for no name-worthy players. Barbosa or Diaw or Jefferson if Boston is retarded(can't rule it out!) may be involved here
What a rollercoaster

Probably another rumor but latest KG deal is Amare going to Hawks, #3 and #11 going to Wolves, Garnett going to Suns. Would be a jackpot for Hawks and a huge price for Suns, but I dunno.

Apparantley someone in the Hawks ownership group just gave a big f u to the trade, vetoeing it and what not. God I'd hate to be an Atlanta basketball fan, worst management ever... that deal was a goldmine. I bet they go into tomorrow and do something retarded like draft Yi third, I can just see it.

The blockbuster trades have begun.
The Orlando Magic have sent to the Houston Rockets a second round draft pick which translates to 54th overall, for cash considertations.

EDIT: Also, apparently done dea...Ray Allen to Boston, #5+Delonte West+Wally Sczerbiak to Seattle.
And #4 Michael Conley goes to Memphis.

Great deal for the Celtics. They get a solid player in Ray Allen and they get to keep Al Jefferson in the process. Now they need to pick up a free agent to replace Wally and hopefully get a more durable player than Wally was.
Edit: Actually it's a fantastic trade for both sides. Not so much with Seattle getting West and Sczerby, but the combo of Greene and Durant is intriguing. Portland is going to be good with Oden, but if Greene turns out to be anything, Seattle might walk away the overall winners in the draft.

Eh, Boston still won't beat us or New Jersey. I would've taken a prospect to play with Jefferson for the next decade, though I can't speak for their fans.

I think it's an awful trade, Allen is what...32? Short window to go far...
Yi to Milwaukee, the club that couldn't see him workout, it's gonna be interesting what will happen there.

As the Celtics are right now, no they won't beat the Raptors. They are however a playoff team and I believe can beat New Jersey. Remember, with an inexperienced Jefferson and a healthy Pierce, the Celts made the playoffs two years ago. They got swept, but they still made it. Now with Allen, they are better than that team. How much better though I'm not sure. They're probably a 7th or 6th (That's pushing it) seed.
This deal might not put people immediately into the seats, but if they compete and are in the playoff hunt, people will show up.

Jeff Green is drafted too high, but I wouldn't have wanted Yi stuck in the West unless it's the Warriors. Wonder how many of my friends back home know where Milwaukee is.

I like the Yi pick. Bucks have balls. I'm actually a bit scared of them for future East teams, they have a real good lineup.

That's a four or five year window. All they need is one contender (Not a 6 or 7 seed) in that time and fans will be happy. The good news is that they will be a playoff team for that entire window. With a more developed Jefferson and Gerald Green, plus another veteran who they could add this year, or next (Which might be easier if they're a playoff team in '07-'08) they could be good shape.
