Couple of thoughts.

Anderson Varejao recently became biggest flopper in NBA history. Yeah, move over Divac.

Pistons are getting shafted by the refs in this game. But...

...Wallace is still an idiot.

I hate the fact that refs don't call palmings and travels anymore. Refs also have trouble to notice moving screens as well.

Gibson MVP of today's game.

And there shouldn't ever be a playoff coach named Flip.

Well congrats and all but I dont wanna see Pollard, Jones, Snow, Marshall, Sasha, Hughes, and Brown with a ring.

Spurs are gonna kill Cavs anyways, 5 or 6 and it's done.

Go Cavs!

Congratulations to the deserving Eastern Conference winners. Lebron's supporting cast is extremely underrated; they can do well even without Lebron having a great offensive game. Plus I think they were undefeated in every game without Lebron this season.

The Finals should be a close contest, despite people writing off the Cavs just as easily as people wrote off the Heat last year. I think the Cavs will steal one of the first two games against the Spurs to make it interesting immediately, but Spurs will still manage to win in 7.

I can't figure out how Detroit can lose 4 games in a row, and in three of those games they were leading in the 4th quarter, and in tonight's they were only down by one. You would think with the Pistons being the veteran club and superior free throw shooters they would have pulled out at least one of those!

Cleveland was just playing out of its skull, and this game just proved right what I said a couple days ago about how it didn't seem to matter if we gaurded Lebron or not. Say what you will about the rest of the team, but they did step it up. In the end, I simply think that the Cavs wanted it more and looked like the hungrier team.

The last couple years the Pistons aren't playing with the same passion as they used to. They act more like they are entitled to the championship, and less like they have to earn it. I've never been a Flip Saunders fan, and I don't think it's a coincidence that Larry Brown went to the finals twice and then Flip took over the exact same team and lost in 6 games in the ECF in both years. I think you can make a case that this year's team has more talent and a better bench then the teams in 04 and 05.

I just hope the Pistons don't decide to make any severe changes to the team. I'd like to see a different coach, but I don't know who you would get that is better - unless they want to beg Larry Brown to come back! They've given us Detroit fans a tremendous 5 year run, but it's really sad that they only have 1 ring to show for all this.

Oh, and while I tip my hat to Cleveland, I do think the officiating was horrendous toward the Pistons in the last 2 games. It wouldn't have mattered much tonight, but it made a big difference in game 5.

I think Cleveland will get slaughtered by San Antonio, but I'll be rooting for them to whip the Spurs. I'm so sick of all the talk about how much better the west is, when the East has won 2 of the last 3 finals.

One last thing... this is all your fault Shack. I knew I was doomed when you picked Detroit to win!

Cavs winning and becoming NBA Champs would probably make them the worst team to win in quite a long time. It would also prove that all you need is a superstar and alot of luck to win it all. They've had an easy trip to the finals thats for sure, facing a team with big injuries and a team without a winning record, then they get Pistons who looked as motivated as a midget getting mounted on by a 500lb woman. Anyways it's hard to imagine Spurs not taking them down, Gibson needs to be a factor for Cavs to even have a chance and I doubt he'll be able to have his way with a team like Spurs.

I think this will go like the Spurs/Nets final back in 2003.

Spurs in 6. I think Lebron can make it close and win a couple of games by himself, but the Spurs are the much better team. As long as they take the Cavs seriously, they should win.

D-Wade basically proved that last year in the Finals.

Uh yeah if Shaq never existed.

He averaged a strong double double in 3 of the 4 games that Heat won, shooting over 65% in all of them. Lets not forget he's still a dominate defensive presence inside.

I love this quote from another site......

"I believe now the Pistons solely exist to launch the legends of young NBA stars".

Donovan wants out of the Magic deal, he wants to go back to Florida.

What a douche, wasting both organizations time with this garbage. Just a big dumbass.

That may be the most true quote of all time.

Been away for a couple days

I still don't get the Cavs. I don't know how Lebron and a bunch of average players backed up by a mediocore coach can go to the finals. But that's ok. I guess they deserved it, they outplayed Detroit in games 1 and 2 anyways. But then again, I also think Detroit had better players and better experience, in a way they lost this series as much as Cleveland won it. Flip is just no good, someone like Larry Brown would've easily figured out the Cavs uncreative style within the first couple games and used it against them. Popovich will pick Brown apart.

The one thing I'm really scared of from the Cleveland organization is Gibson. If they can make the finals with a 22 year old Lebron and a bunch of large role players alone, what happens if Gibson becomes a stud? Lebron and a good point guard might be crazy in the next couple years.

Oh, and yes, the Shack curse continues. :hahaha: At least I'm pretty good at predicting NHL.

I say Spurs in 5 by the way.

Cleveland over New Jersey in 7 games (if Toronto wins, Cleveland will win in 5).

GSW over Houston in 6 .... Utah over GSW in 5

4-0 in the 2nd round. :hump: I nailed two series to the game (Detroit and Utah), and the other two I was only off by one game (SA and Cleveland). That brings my playoff prediction record to an amazing mark of 10-2.

Onto round 3:
Detroit over Cleveland in 5 games (I'm tempted to pick it as a sweep...)
San Antonio over Utah in 6 games

I'd be amazed if either series goes to game 7.

Well, I got SA right, but blew the Detroit pick. That brings me to 11-3 for the playoffs.

For Cleveland vs. SA, I'll go with SA in 4 games. But I'll be rooting for Cleveland, even though I'm not sure if I like them... I can't stand Varajao. Plus, I'd like to know how the league allows a guy named Sasha to play.

As for Detroit, the rumor is that Flip Saunders is staying as the coach, and they're going after Zach Randolph. It's likely that they'll be getting rid of one of their 4 core players. Chauncey will probably stay, so they could be getting rid of Rip, Tayshaun, or Rasheed. I hope it's not Rasheed!

I've been on Portland message boards and a lot of them aren't big on Randolph, apparantley he has a bad self-centered attitude and hogs the ball too much. They were convinced that Oden/Roy/Alderidge/somebody good they can get for Randolph would be a better nucleus for now. Being 20 point+ scorer isn't as impressive if your team is terrible. Last year we had Mike James and Morris Peterson putting up 20 points a game... and we all know what happened there. hahaha.

I think if Billups goes, Detroit's reign on the East is gone. Cavs, Bulls will have better records, meaning they'll at best be the 5th seed in the conference. They might even drop down to 7th-8th, Chauncey runs that team.
