Well Schilling just pitched a heck of a game. And the Sox got an unbelievable play from Youkilis. He better make the All Star Team. Oh the Yankees got beat by the might Jays 7-2

It got scary in the ninth though, Paps let the tying run on with no outs. He struck out two batters though to get out of it.

I wish I was home in time for Nixon's first at bat. That must have been something. There's always Sportscenter or my local news, but to have seen that live would've been cool.
Anyways, good win tonight. It seems that Schilling pitched well and the bats came together when they needed to. It was good to see Youkilis extend his hitting streak to 20 and Pedroia get three base hits. Hopefully Beckett will pitch well in his first start in two weeks tomorrow and we can pick up another win.
Now if only the Orioles could start losing too...........

I saw the Nixon ovation on Baseball tonight it was very cool. I always liked him as a player. The Youkilis inside the park HR was great, he better be on the all star team.

I've given up on the Jays but I've been following baseball a bit more lately
The NL Central is about 3 weeks from being the most pathetic sight ever. Brewers are horrid again and the Cards are a disaster this year, meaning the division leader soon will probably be sub-.500 Cubs or Pirates or something... hilarious. I don't know about anyone else but I'm rooting for the Pittsburgh Pirates to make the playoffs.

Sox win again 4-2. The winning streak is now up to 5 and the lead in the East remains at 11.5 over the Orioles. It's also now up to 14.5 over the Yankees. I don't expect this to happen, but if they can win the next four games, and if Toronto can help us out with one more game, the Sox could be up by as many as 18.5 over the Yankees. What I think will happen is they will take tomorrow's final game against the Indians and then take two out of three from the Yankees for a 17.5 game lead.
And the Orioles just need to stop winning. That would be great.

Sox are doing good right now, winning over 70% of the games.
Yanks arent out, but I wouldnt be surprised if they finally got rid of Torre this year. He dodged the bullet the last couple of years

Ok, the Jesse Litsch experiment is officially over. Back to the minors now.
I'm disappointed. I really wanted a Yanks sweep. Game's not over yet though, I guess.

6-5 Yankees now as the Blue Jays are discovering the Yankees bullpen. And the Red Sox game is starting to get interesting. Bases loaded no one out, down 6-2. Byrd pitched a very good game for the Indians though.

After Crisp and Youkilis were retired, you could see that coming.

Wow A-Rod better treasure his bodyguards getting out of the stadium tonight. It mirrors the slapping incident in 04.
(In case it doesn't show up on highlight reels, what happened was this. Bottom of 8th with 2 outs, Posada hits a pop up to shortstop/third base area. Jays third baseman Clark looks to catch it. Rodriguez runs by him from 2nd and says "got it!" or "back off! or something, it hasn't been deciphered from the camera exactly what he said, just that he visibly yelled something. Clark completley backs off because he thought the SS just called for the ball. It hits the ground and a run scores. Inning continues, instead of 7-5 going into the bottom of the 9th it's now 10-5 and continuing.)
Not that we weren't probably going to lose anyways, but that's just being an assclown. The "You suck" and "A-Rod sucks" chants for the 10 minute manager argument afterwards was hilarious. The announcer even used the word "Weakkk" to describe him.

You know you suck, when you have to cheat against the Blue Jays (Sorry Shack ) to win a game.
Red Sox lose. Oh well. 2 out of 3 is still pretty good against a team like Cleveland. Now we need to take 2 out of 3 this weekend.

even though the tribe lost 2 of 3 to boston, i was happy the way they stayed right in the first two games while going against boston's top 2 pitchers thus far. the indians didn't have their best two pitchers going in that series, so i was more than happy that they held their own and ended up pounding dice-k. it could be one hell of a playoff series of these two end up meeting in the post-season.

My GOD, did anyone see the catch Grady Sizemore just made!??!? That had to be one of the best, if not the best, catch of the year.

After the losing streak and Ryan/Halladay(momentarily) going down, I can handle the Jays only being 5 games back in the wild card. Tigers got some more games against Cleveland who own them, there could be a wild mess a week from now with all those not terrible AL teams.

Mattingly is doing one of two things by bringing in Rivera with a 6 run lead. It's either....
A) Rivera hasn't had a lot of work and Mattingly wants to shut the door down on the Red Sox now.
or
B) This is Mattingly's way of showing that he doesn't want the manager's job if/when Torre gets fired.

The game today was fucking awesome. Maybe the game of the series. Yankees are bitches for walking Yuki the last two times ending his streak.
Lowell was absurd today.
Can't wait for tomorrow. It was exciting, the lead changed 5 times until the 7th inning

Well that sucked. Oh well, no harm no foul. The Yanks only gained a game over the weekend and they're still 12.5 back. As for the overall division, we're still 10.5 up so that's still very good. It'll be interesting to see though how both teams play on the road tomorrow night, especially the Sox who have the travel to Oakland and face Harden. The Sox better get some sleep tonight on the plane because they're gonna need their rest for tomorrow.

What a Jays comeback last night. Matched the largest 9th inning rally in franchise history. 4 back in the wild card now, 9 in the division though there's not much chance there, and 2/2.5 games ahead of Baltimore and NY Yankees for 2nd.
