how can you honestly say that? after the first 5 episodes the season was a disaster.

Really? I thought it was fucking brilliant. The most consistently awesome show on telly right now. There were a few filler eps here and there in the middle, but all in all, I loved every minute.

My only real qualm was the episode where Starbuck bit the bucket. Not so much because it was bad, but just because it ticked so many boxes on the 'major character going to die' cliché list.

"Here sir, take this little figurine to put on your model ship. And to remember me by"
"Lee, when I die, will you put my picture on this wall?"

It was so obvious, I half expected them to pull off a surprise twist and kill off Lee. That was the only episode that wasn't up to the show's usual standard.

first season was amazing, second was really good but the third i thought was a disaster. i thought there were way too many stand alone episodes and really didnt see much of anything move forward. plus starbuck dying and then coming back 2 episodes later. eh.

I know, but fix that. It got better as the season went on. I can guarantee you'll end up loving it.

I'm watching episode 2 now. I plan on getting to episode 6 by the end of the night. I'll keep you posted.

The X-Files, Season 4 - A-/B+

The X-Files, Season 5 - A-

The X-Files, Season 6 - A-

The last three seasons were really good. Duchovny and Anderson are perfect for their parts and have great chemistry. And they can be really fun too.

Starting with Battlestar Galactica now.

Alias, Season 4 - B+

Enjoyable season. Therer weren't some brilliant episodes but it was entertaining all the way through. Funnily this season made me really adore Garner.

Scrubs, Season 5 - A

I loooooove this show and can't wait for Season 6 to start here. Braff is a genius here and the rest of the team is great too.

Still a lot of shows to finish like BSG, Dexter, Jericho, Heroes,...

Well, what I've seen of Jericho was pure trash. Heroes quite bored me, BSG had great opening four episodes - but few after were a bit "meh"...start of season three of 4400 was almost disasterous...

Hmm...

Dexter! That was quite promising! There is a light.

So there's a chance at a C-grade in future! ;)

Battlestar Galactica, Season 1: A-

Battlestar Galactica, Season 2: A-

I'm definately hooked now. The second season had a few not-so-good episodes but the good ones more than made up for it. My favorite character has to be Starbuck. She's great.

The X-Files, Season 7: B+

A bit of a letdown after the last few seasons but still pretty good. It saddens me that Duchovny is now pretty much gone. The relationship between him and Anderson was what made the show so great. I'm curious to see how Season 8 is going to be without him. Starting in a few days.

So, why do you keep watching the shows, if you hate them so much? It's not like a movie, which is just a couple hour commitment - watching 20-odd episodes of something that is D-level must be pure torture. And you did it five times, no less. I think you're just too harsh, Nebs.

When I start something, feel it would be a waste to stop watching, no matter how bad show might be. And for some series (Lost and BSG), I now *have* to see where they'll end up with it. Storyline still is interesting, while execution is bad. Plus, all of these shows (save for Jericho) had some great seasons.

And at the end, it's *easier* to watch them this way...couple of episodes per day, doubt I'd stick if I'd watch them as most of you guys, week by week.

Sex and the City, Season 02 - B

Not exactly my type of show but I wanted to know what's the big deal with it. While I liked it I'm definately not blown away. About 95% of the guys, the girls meet on the show, are freaks.

The O.C, Season 04: A+

I'm so pissed off the show got cancelled when it got better than ever. The death of Marissa was the best thing that could have happend for the show and we only got 16 episodes without her.

The Shield, Season 04: A-/B+

Another show that got really good in it's fourth season again. Anthony Anderson was a surprisingly great villian.

24, Season 6: B+/B

I'm a HUGE 24 fan (my favorite show right after Lost) but this was definately the weakest season yet. Still not as bad as some say but there were a few pretty terrible episodes somewhere in the middle and the entire season didn't managed to be as exciting as the other ones. And the little boy, Josh, was god-awful. Still, there are some great moments too and perhaps the best fight on 24 ever (#17). After having seen the trailer for Season 7, which reminds me a lot about the first season, I have high hopes for it to get to 24 at it's best again.
