Yikes! Those are some harsh drops. But after yesterday's decent drops, this was kind of expected, I guess. Still good for Fockers.

Can't compare to last year since the holiday date is different. This is in line with 1999's data, when the last time new year fell on a Saturday.

A lot of people had Mondays off as well. So Monday figures were slightly misleading.

Its called School and work :P

Expect more drops for Weds numbers as most of the schools across the country start today...

Once the kids go back to school the parents go back to work and there is no one left to watch movies during the day which carries alot of the gross..

I have already seen them. Its a good drop, but i was taking the movie on its own performance, not based on other movies. Its a harsh drop for any movie to get, which is what is meant. :)

Ya you might be right, it's not getting any awards attention so there's no point........

Phantom will go wide (2000+) on Jan 21......but they could always increase on the 622 TC it has now over the next 2 weekends leading up to wide...

Phantom of course will have a box office boost, but the film has no shot at $100m.

I think Phantom will do well in wide release. At the worst Evita type numbers - but I think it can stretch to about $80m

I doubt that it will make 80m, maybe 60m. I say 65m at most.
