 The 'Smallville' Thread
Posted this at the "other site" before and got no nibbles.
Some topics to discuss:
What will Clark Kent's new power this season be and how will he acquire it? (Recap: Season 1 (x-ray vision), Season 2 (heat vision), Season 3 (superhearing))
Who will Clark bring to the senior prom?
What is the future of the show since ratings declined in Year 3? Does the impending Superman movie figure into this? And who will play Superman?
When will Lex Luthor become evil?
How will the town and Lois, Lex, etc, forget about Clark Kent?

I'm a fan, but a newbie. I only started watching 3 weeks ago, and I have been trying to catch up by watching the older episodes on ABC Family, and I just saw the first new episode last wednesday, and it was very good. My favorite character is definitely Chloe, she is just so cute, and intelligent. This weeks episode looks like it is going to be very interesting, and entertaining. I can't wait!

Hey Pinkpanther, glad to speak to another Smallville fan, glad you are enjoying it.
Chloe is a great character and IMO a better actress than KK (Kristin Kreuk) for Lana.
You think she will end up going with Clark to the prom, or will it be Lana or some other girl? I t cannot be Lois as they do not want to ruin the Superman mythos too much by having him hook up with Lois that early.
This week's episode should be a good one with The Flash coming into town. There is gonna be a race between him and Clark to go down to Miami! Crazy indeed.

I hope he goes with Chloe because she still has feelings for Clark, and she's just so sweet, and cute.

Well Clark never saw her as more than just a friend, except at the end of Season 1 for a little bit, perhaps you can catch the repeats of that on ABC Family channel.
I kinda take a little exception to her pining for him so much though, makes her seem desperate. At least in this next episode on Wednesday the new boy will take a liking to her.

What a beauty!! I believe she's a Dutch/Chinese mixture! I just think her character on Smallville is annoying at times!
She's going to be in a fantasy mini-series called EarthSea which looks interesting from what I can tell!

Yup I agree her character is a little whiny at times.
Here is the WB Description for Tonight's episode called "Run":
THE FLASH ZOOMS INTO SMALLVILLE - After Jonathan’s (John Schneider) wallet is stolen, Clark (Tom Welling) super-speeds after the culprit (guest star Kyle Gallner), but is stunned when he cannot catch him. The thief, Bart, a.k.a. The Flash, later shows up at the farm and tries to talk Clark into leaving Smallville for a life on the road together, flexing their super powers. Meanwhile, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) buys a priceless framed manuscript with Kryptonian symbols and Clark learns that it contains a mysterious hidden map. However, when Bart steals the manuscript from Lex, he inadvertently puts Clark’s life in danger and must make the decision whether to save Clark or himself.

I think Chloe is hotter than Lana, and I loved last wednesday's episode. Flash was so good, and next weeks episode looks like it is going to be amazing.

Chloe's jealousy makes her less appealing to me! Lana is annoying at times yes, but I like the ethnic mixture! A real beauty in my opinion!

Kyle Gallner, the actor who played The Flash, was excellent, the part seems so natural to him. I heard that one of the producers, Al Miles, said that they plan to have The Flash back later in the season. Woohoo!
It was great seeing Clark have some fun with his powers. I liked how they went to Miami and back to Smallville all in the same day.
Here is the WB's official description for this Wednesday's episode, looks really interesting as Clark and Lionel Luthor (Lex Luthor's father exchange bodies):
CLARK AND LIONEL SWITCH BODIES - Clark (Tom Welling) hears a painful ringing sound in his ears and is drawn to the prison where Lionel (John Glover) is being held. When he sees Lionel attempt to stab Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) with a strange glowing stone, Clark grabs for the stone causing the two men to switch bodies. Learning his new body has super powers, Lionel immediately begins wreaking havoc on Smallville. Trapped behind bars without his powers, Clark must figure out a way to get his body and powers back in order to save his friends and family.

This has been a really bad season of Smallville, 2 of the last 4 episodes I have skipped because of how horrible they looked, and Im getting upset with the WBs constant need to turn Clark into a "bad boy."

I really liked Lois when she was on the show. I think she should come back. Makes it more interesting.
This season they are takling a lot of 'moral' issues. You have the whole being beautiful thing. Then you have the one about love, then the whole father/son thing happening.
Very good season though. It beats season 1 with all the crap baddies who have a different power every season.
I think this season they're finding out how to get new villains yet still maintain a flow.

Here's the summary for this week's episode
Chloe (Allison Mack) is drawn into an underground gambling ring at school run by foreign exchange student Mikail Mxyzptlk (guest star Trent Ford) and loses her savings on a football game after Mxyzptlk uses his powers to control all the players - including Clark (Tom Welling). When Chloe discovers Mxyzptlk's secret, he kidnaps her and threatens to kill her unless Clark throws the championship game. Meanwhile, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) threatens Mxyzptlk with deportation unless he uses his powers for Lex's benefit. Kristin Kreuk, John Glover, Jensen Ackles, Annette O'Toole and John Schneider also star. Paul Shapiro directed the episode written by Mark Warshaw.
I can't wait

*sigh* This weeks episode was pretty good... But next week's episode. Look at that, Lana and Chloe are "bad" again and sexually charged! Im so fucking sick of these types of episodes. They've done it 15 damn times. If Clark Kent runs into red cryptonite again this season, that will be the last straw. My clicker will no longer stay on that show.

Hope people don't mind me bringing the discussion all the way back to the early years, but since no one has posted in about 2 months, I think it should be ok. I finally started watching my DVD's of the show after having them sit on the shelf for so long and I have to say it's not a horrible show. I'm on early season 2 right now, and it seems to be following a very Murder, She Wrote-esque pattern. Not that I mind, I love MSW.
Someone gets Kryptonite-enhanced powers, uses them for evil, Chloe stumbles onto something, Clark puts 2 and 2 together, stops the evil guy just in time and all is right with the world. Throw some townspeople not trusting Lex, some Clark pining away for Lana and Pete generally just being used as a token minority character and you've got Smallville! Not that it's bad, it just took a bit to get used to.
My major problem with the first season is that a lot of the characters are kind of unlikeable. Clark is too "aw shucks, gollygee, oblivious, farm boy"-esque, Clark's dad is way too sanctimonious to be liked, Lana is just so robotic and emotionless. So I have three main characters where I wouldn't mind seeing them off the screen, I guess Clark is okay, but the other two infuriate me.
Whitney also got on my nerves early on in S1, but at least he grew and realized he was being a jerk and seemed to regret some of the stuff he did. He showed the most growth out of all the characters. Chloe is interesting and I like her a lot more with Clark than Lana, but that reporter side of her can anger me sometimes, but I guess it's a necessary component for the show. Pete's cool, I do wish they gave him more to do in S1. Lex is my favourite character, perhaps because when he's on it usually has something to do with the continuing mystery surrounding Clark, it is a nice respite from the "baddie of the week", also I do think he gets the best material to work with, his character isn't defined by what he does in High School, which is a drawback from many of the main characters.
Anyway, that was my introductory thoughts on SV, it does seem to be a good way to spend 44 minutes, at least in the early years, I haven't heard great things about S3+ Now back to your original S4 discussion....

I actually just watched all of season 2 in the last month. The show is pretty good and i like it a lot. I just want them to move to metropolis to see how clark settles there and everything. make him a bit more responsible without his parents there all the time.

I used to like this show, but lost interest and moved on. I really don't like the show anymore and think its boring now. I guess my TV interests have changed!
