I got it too, but I only pegged it at 2OT's. That had to be a bitch to watch for Stars fans.

I hate watching Calgary play, their game is just plain ugly. Definitley my least favorite Canadian team, despite the city being a couple hours away. My town and culture is Oilers based though, so I guess its natural. It looks like they're outmatched anyways completley.

All my teams won again tonight. It was a lot more clear who was gonna win these series, but still...
Definitely a less exciting night of hockey.

Standings Total
1. trixster 100
2. MikeQ. 94
3. jmart007 89
4. ChipMunky 87
The game will likely stay close until the 2nd round of playoffs.
Peace,
Mike.

Why does it seem that in every game I participate in, Trixster always seems to kick my ass?

Because I'm just that awesome.
In all seriousness, I'm glad you're playing this game. The number of hockey fans on this forum is staggeringly low.

Nashville/San Jose is so clearly the best series right now. The most exciting, with two very skilled teams, and also the most physical, with two Sharks players now being injured in back-to-back games. I hope that it goes to seven games.

Still remains a really close game; think of how many points there are still to be won. Anyone could still win.
Peace,
Mike.

Looks like my upset picks, Atlanta and Minnesota, aren't putting up very good fights.
Pens were solid today. Crosby and Malkin together is a desperation move that has seemed to work.

Atlanta wouldn't really be an upset, they do have home-ice advantage. That said, I don't think New York's victory was ever in doubt; the Thrashers just don't have enough experience. And Minnesota just ran into Anaheim, who's my pick to go to the final.
I knew Ottawa would lose today; they've never won a game two after winning game one. They did the same thing last year against Tampa. I still think they'll take the series in five.

Goddamn Pens. They opened the game with a 1 goal lead, and now it's 4-1 for the Sens.
I'm still not counting them out. Although, should they eliminate the Sens, it doesn't seem like they have a chance in hell of the Conference Finals, let alone the Stanley Cup Final.

Calgary is getting flat out OWNED. 97 shots against in 2 games.
Some analysts on tv have brought up the possibility of Playfair being booted for the rest of the series, getting Sutter back in... and I almost agree with it. The guy won't have his job next year anyways... It's a bit of a slap in the face, but Flames have nothing to lose at this point, they have to try something, anything at all.

Pens lost. I fear the worst. It's pretty much over if they lose Game 4 on Tuesday.

Flames are toast. Detroit is just rolling over them. They don't have the intensity that the Oilers did last year.
Can't say I'm too sad, though.

Glad to see the Canucks win again last night, they really outplayed Dallas all game. It's really turned into a goaltending dual, as was expected.
I do wonder if Playfair will be fired. If Calgary loses game 3, count on it.

Well I guess if anyone can solve Brodeur, it's the offense machine of Tampa. To be honest though he let in some bad goals today.

Brodeur's just not playing like Brodeur. That first goal by Lecavalier was weak. I picked the Devils because I thought goaltending would win out, but I'd actually prefer Tampa to win. Really stick it to Lou for making that bonehead decision with a week to play.

Updated Draft Standings:
1. trixster - 231
2. MikeQ. - 217
3. ChipMunky - 207
4. jmart007 - 207
Me picking Anaheim to go to the finals has what's got me in first, as they're the only ones who've won three game so far. Once we get to the second round, this will really start changing.

NY Rangers are completley opposite of what they were a year ago. Wow... Buffalo won't have an easy time.
This is probably one of the least exciting first rounds in a while, it looks to me like 4 of the series(Det. vs Calg., NYR vs Atl., Ana. vs Min., Buf. vs NYI) are walks, and if Ottawa holds on tonight it'll be 5. Then from the rest, Vancouver vs Dallas just isn't an entertaining series to watch, Tampa vs New Jersey isn't bad but it's more of a chokejob as of late from NJ than an equal pairing, Nashville vs San Jose is the one great series.

I wouldn't say Buf/NYI is a walk - DiPietro has shown he can steal games for the Islanders. It's a rather entertaining series, too, as is Ott/Pit.
But you're right, it's not as entertaining as, say, last year, with Edmonton's upset, Carolina's come from behind, and Calgary's collapse.

A Calgary comeback is still possible as well(best home team in the league, worst road), though I don't see it happening.

Well... they'd have to win at least one road game to win the series, which it doesn't look like they can do. Detroit didn't just beat them, they destroyed them.
And Ottawa just won, so they've pretty much got that series locked up. Should be able to win it at home in game five. Exact same result as round one last year for them; hope they can go further than round two this year.

Minnesota just woke the fuck up, and it's been a long time coming after a 7 game Anaheim curse. Though is it too late? Probably. Best part about playoffs is that it's never over till it's over though... if they take next game, it's a close series again, Game 6 at home to force a 7th. I hope they do because it'll create some excitement and I like Minnesota while hating Anaheim, and I picked them probably foolishly. If they win the next game though it becomes interesting.

Well, I wasn't far off with my Rangers prediction. I had Thrashers winning at least one game in the series, but they couldn't even muster one up.
Rangers likely facing Buffalo in the Semis, if the Devils pull ahead of Lightning.
