Don't you live in Atlanta? Who do you cheer for? Philly? The Oilers?

Still only have Trixster, Chip and I in the http://www.hockeydraft.ca pool I made. Where's everyone else? There's only 1 hour left to enter until the games start.

Peace,
Mike.

Alright, that's the deadline, folks. Ottawa/Pittsburgh is about to start!

Two quick ones by Ottawa to set the tone of the game, and, I think, the series. The Penguins just don't have enough experience.

Jmart, it looks obvious to me that you assigned the points the wrong way. You assigned 16 points to NY Islanders, and 1 to Ottawa (and 2 to Buffalo). 16 is supposed to be for the best team (most games won), all the way down to 1 (the least games won). You did the opposite. The reason 16 is for the best is because what the pool does is multiply the points you gave to the team times the number of games they win. So you get most points that way.

With your permission, I'll edit your ballot so it is corrected and everything is numbered the opposite way. It's obvious to me you made a simple error. :)

Peace,
Mike.

It's corrected.

So, in the hockeydraft.ca pool, it's:

Trixster
vs.
Chipmunky
vs.
MikeQ.
vs.
jmart007

That's cool. I like it, a little competition between us 4. We'll see who's winning as it goes along. Just go to that site and sign in whenever you want to check up. All players entries are now visible, so you can see what others predicted.

Cheers.

Peace,
Mike.

I'm actually watching the Nashville vs San Jose game over the Pens/Sens at the moment... The latter has a quick pace, but I'm not really feeling the playoff hunger and atmosphere between them. Pens look awkward and just kind of happy to be there, Sens are trying not to buckle under the pressure. Meanwhille Nashville and San Jose want to eat each other alive, there's more physicality and vitality in that game so far... should be a fun and long series.

The Sens were shot out of a cannon in the first 10 minutes, but luckily, the Pens seem to be holding up better (Fleury moreso than the team itself, though). I think the game is done. The Sens will take Game 1. But, I think now that the Pens know what the playoffs are, they can toughen up.

3-0 now. ;)

I really can't see this series lasting longer than five games.

It's slaughter the penguins day today.

I always thought Ottawa would whip their ass, but I stayed conservative and said Ottawa in 6 games (giving the Pens a couple of wins). With the way they're playing tonight, they'll be swept.

Peace,
Mike.

And it's 6-1.

I don't think it'll be a sweep, but it won't be a Pittsburgh series win by any means.

I think the Nashville/San Jose game just goes to show how close that series is going to be (it will go down to 7 games, I bet). It's going into overtime now.

Forsberg got a couple of assists for Nashville.

Peace,
Mike.

The San Jose vs Nashville game has been AWESOME. Just crazy bulldog playoff hockey all game, it's never let up, and Forsberg really is one of the best playoff players ever. Forget Ottawa/Pittsburgh, I think this 4 vs 5 series in terms of great teams playing each other early is the biggest shame. 3rd overall and 5th overall, and tied for 2nd most wins in the league. Either way whoever comes out of this I'd be willing to call a cup contender, in particular Nashville is kind of underrated in that race, they actually have a really deep team.

After having not seen a single playoff game I can confidently say that Crosby is KICKING ASS and will most assuredly win me lots of points.

What a marathon of a game. And I'm still watching it!

It's actually only in the second overtime, but it just feels long because it's so late.

I live in Pittsburgh, but grew up in Philadelphia.

My main teams are:

Eagles
Flyers
Sixers
Phillies
University of Pittsburgh
University of Notre Dame

I also attend about 30 or so Pirates games a year since my GF gets free tickets. So I kind of root for them, but the Phillies are my team.

Current Draft Standings:

Standings Total
1. trixster - 52
2. MikeQ. - 47
3. jmart007 - 45
4. ChipMunky - 37

These will change considerably as the game continues, depending on which teams win the first series and move on to win more games.

Peace,
Mike.

All of my teams won last night, so....

I missed the end of the Vancouver game, though. I went to bed after the third overtime. It didn't end 'til near the end of the fourth overtime. That's insane. Sixth longest game in NHL history.
