I really think Tenn could be a sleeper.
Well both are not good road teams period. That was one of the reasons I went against UVA. They were 3-9 on the road. Tennesee is 6-10.
I know the RPI isn't everything, but how do you justify UVA as a #4 seed and Kansas St. not in the tourney when they were #55 and #56 in the RPI. I know UVA tied for 1st in the ACC 11-5, but much of it was due to an unbalanced shedule. However, that was the reason used to keep Kansas State out when they went 10-6 in the B-12.
UVA got Miami and Wake Forest, the weakest teams twice. They got the three tough Southern teams, Duke, GT, and FSU at home. They lost to Stanford at home. Their only good road win was over Maryland, when they were struggling. They also beat UNC and VT at home when they were struggling. UVA is obviously a good team, but I just have a hard time believing a team that lost to Miami, Wake Forest and NC St. in 5 games is anything more.
Road record was another reason, I picked KU.
Before the tournament started:
Road/Neutral Record *Best Road/Neutral Wins
Kansas 14-2 *Florida, Texas
Memphis 11-3 *Kentucky, Gonzaga
Georgetown 12-3 *Pittsburg, Villanova
Pittsburgh 11-5 *Villanova, Louisville
UCLA 9-5 *Arizona, Wash. St.
Ohio St. 11-3 *Wisconsin, MSU
Texas A & M 7-5 *Kansas, Oklahoma St.
UNC 12-5 *Arizona, Duke
Florida 11-5 *Kentucky, Arkansas
Wisconsin 10-5 *Marquette, Illinois
L10
Ohio St. 10-0
Memphis 10-0
Kansas 10-0
Georgetown 9-1
UCLA 7-3
Florida 7-3
Texas A & M 7-3
UNC 7-3
Wisconsin 7-3
Pittsburgh 6-4

They deff are. And I knew that, and still picked ND. I think they are a very strong team, capable of winning a close game. I just have to hope Winthrop doesn't get hot from beyond the arc or ND could be in trouble.
As is, despite trailing at the half, I think ND is OK.

Wisconsin is performing just what I expected. Too bad I picked the wrong team (GT) to go to the sweet 16. I'm going to say right now Wisconsin isn't going to come back in this game. 11 points is a big deficit for them, even as early as this.

Winthrop looks like they're going to win.
Will a 16 ever beat a 1?

Give up a 22-2 run to Winthrop and you probably deserve to lose.
I'm not as obsessive over March Madness as most of the country seems to be, for me there's too many teams I know nothing about, too many games on early to track, and not enough time or channels to watch it all. Predicting for it has always seemed like more of a crapshoot of which teams get upset, than actual skill, but I guess that's because I haven't been following these teams and their abilities.

At the upper left corner of the screen, I only saw the timer move but not Wisconsin's points.

Come on ND, Winthrop is playing not to lose and you are playing the most horrid interior defense I have ever seen.
It's like no one wants to win this game.

ND takes the lead. It looks like they may pull it out after all. Teams like Winthrop seem to blow it down the wire.

I am a big fan of refs letting kids play, but I hate when refs become scared to make the call.

Notre Dame is going to lose. Winthrop advances to the second round for the first time in school history. Congratulations to them.

Oregon doesn't look too hot. I could see Winthrop taking them, if they don't lose this game.

Oregon is having trouble with the tempo of Miami Ohio. I think they will pull away. Winthrop plays more their style which will kill Wintrhop because Oregon is too deep and too athletic.
