Basketball is not fun to watch. Unless it's like the Suns-Mavs game last night, otherwise... it's ALL rubbish. It is by far, one of the most boring sports on a regular basis.

I don't know how anyone can consider football more exciting than basketball, but that's just me. The former sport consists of about 80% standing around with the whistle blown and thinking about what they're going to do next, while the plays themselves are a couple of seconds each, I think it was bABA that said football is like a giant chess match. Basketball and Hockey are at least fluid motion all the time... it's the most exciting for me.

I thought Penn had a chance for a while to pull off an upset but they stopped running their offense and went right down the drain.

George Washington should've been seeded 13 or 14th. A-10 is awful this year, and they should be treated just as a mid-major. GW winning the conference tournament is not different from Wright State upsetting Butler to take a spot, and they didn't even face Xavier on their way to the title.

All in all, this has been a supremely disappointing first group of games. None of them were really close, and definitely no upsets. Here's hoping for a solid night!

Huh?

UMD vs. Davidson? Texas Tech vs. BC? Butler vs. Old Dominion? UPenn vs. A&M?

Sure, we knew the probable outcomes, but are you really, really saying that they weren't fun to watch?

Vanderbilt is looking amazing - they're the team to stop GTown in that division, it seems.

All those games you listed were only close for like ten total minutes of the actual game. Except for the Tech/BC game, which was pointless anyway. UMD/Davidson was really the only fun one, and it got pretty bad in the final five minutes. Butler/ODU and A&M/Penn were both almost unwatchable.

Disappointing my ass.

There is no sporting event I would rather watch than the first 4 days of March Madness, ever. I think the games have been fine thus far, you're being unrealistic if you expect a buzzer beating win every game.

Oh, I completely agree. The opening rounds of the tournament are hands down the best sporting events around, and I did enjoy myself this morning/afternoon. But I think to say the games weren't slightly disappointing is kind of dishonest. I'm not even expecting buzzer beaters. There wasn't a single game played that you will remember next week.

Yeah, so if Duke wins this game, my bracket is fucked.

If UCLA loses, my bracket will really be busted.

Will Marquette score?

Come on, we're shooting 60% from the floor vs. 31% for VCU, and we're only leading by 3.

Although I have MSU beating Marquette - what the fuck is Marquette doing? They're an energetic team, and they're blowing it ALL away.

Tonight's games have been disappointing. Other than the Duke/VCU game, they've all been blow-outs.

Yes, it is, and I'm shaking inside.

I love how whenever you WANT Duke to win, they can't, but whenever you HATE Duke, they always pull through. Let's start hating Duke again for the sake of torrino's bracket.

Unfortunately, EVERY TV IN THIS DORM IS OCCUPIED BY GIRLS WATCHING GREY'S FUCKING ANATOMY.

And, because my local CBS is broadcasting the Duke game, NCAASports.com won't let me view THAT one online. So I'm listening to a radio feed. Who does that?!

GO DUKE.

Well, if Duke loses now, Pitt can win.

But if Duke wins, Pitt's going to be the upset of the night.

Your team is fucking inconsistent.

Shit. I was yelling double-team; it's apparently our guards can't contain him one on one. At that situation, you have to get the ball out of his hand and let another player try to make an open 3, even though they shot the 3s so well.

That's funny, poor dukies.

Eh, their run was good. I like Duke, but something about McRoberts and Paulus makes them both seem like total unlikeable assholes.

At least we have everybody back and a, supposedly, stellar recruiting class. Hopefully they're not as overrated as our last couple of classes.

Now compare that game to the games we had to watch (endure?) earlier today and tell me the tourney hasn't been a disappointment so far.

Still, that was a fantastic game. The tension during the final five minutes was palpable. I was waiting for a full blown race riot at any moment.

VCU to the Sweet 16!
