Warriors beat the shit out of Pistons again, good to have all our guys back again. Without BD and Jackson, this team plays like retards.

The problem is, we f'ed up pretty bad with that losing streak, so now since we have our star players back we arent gonna get a good draft pick and it seems a little too late to make the playoffs, unless we make a serious run. Another shit year most likely.

Raps have cooled down a bit lately, with Wiz having Jamison/Butler back they're gonna have to work hard to challenge 3rd in the conference which they had momentarily before the cold streak came on. At this point that 3rd means everything towards playoff hopes past the first round, Bulls 1st round Pistons 2nd round bracket would suk. Alternative would be like Pacers 1st round Cavs 2nd. MUCH better. Beating Wiz tomorrow and getting momentum back before going into an easy couple games would be a good start.

Well, thankfully the Pistons won't be meeting the GSW in the playoffs!

The Pistons have looked pretty damn bad since Rasheed has been out... they've lost 2 of the 3, and barely won the other one against the worst team in the league (Memphis).

As for Toronto... I hate to say I told you so, Shack, but that's why I said I wasn't ready to call them the 3rd best team in the East based on one hot streak. I think they are a good team, but they don't have a lot of consistency yet, haven't shown they can win on the road on a regular basis, and are young. In a year or two they may be a force to contend with in the East, but I still see them not making it out of the 1st round this year, and would place them as 5th or 6th best in the East.

To be fair the hot 'streak' lasted about 2 months+ straight, and it's not like a true cold streak has came in, they've done no worse than the Pistons in the last couple games. Losses have been kind of explainable, the Spurs are unstoppable and losing was expected, against the Bucks we played our worst game in a long long time admittingly. To Cleveland they were deflated from awful loss to Bucks the night before, and 2 of our 3 most valuable players Bargnani and Parker were gone. In between that was a win against the Rockets that wasn't supposed to happen, so it was a near even balance. Since the all-star break they haven't been playing horrible, just back at a human level.

I admit it looks like right now that Detroit, Cleveland, Bulls, and Wizards are ahead, but I think they can make a push for a 3rd seed if they try hard enough with a semi-easy schedule from here out. In any case it doesn't look like anyone can challenge Detroit sans a Miami with Wade back, but the East playoffs will still be fun.

Edit - Argh! At least there's some easy games coming up...

and Lebrons miracle shot gets taken back ... sigh.

Maybe that was the right call but the Pistons have gotten every 'close' call tonight. Fire the refs please. A double foul?

Man, Shaq is still the fucking MAN. :2thumbsup: I think if you throw in his beast-ness and leadership, he's as valuable to the Heat as Wade is, if not more. They're playing better with him leading the way at least...

You can't really compare the Pistons recent cold streak with the Raptors'. The Pistons are a team that have been consistantly dominant for the past 5 years. When they are on a cold streak, it is definitely not the norm. That's the level Toronto needs to get at to become an elite team in the East.

Right now, judging from the last few years and the rest of this year, their one extended hot streak seems to be the oddity, and it is far from the norm. That's what I mean when I say they need to be consistent before I would say they are a top 3 team in the East. They're not that many games above .500 in an incredibily weak division and conference.

There are many other teams that are playoff tested and have put together a few good years - like Miami, Washington, Chicago, Cleveland - and I just can't figure how any of those can rank below the Raptors at this point, and I'd bet on any of those teams over them in the playoffs.

But, not to take anything away either... I see them as a team on the rise and if they can string a few hot streaks together over a period of a couple years, then they might start to be able to go deep in the playoffs, but I just don't see it this year.

wow, nice win by the cavs tonight. this could really be the spark for a fantastic finish to their season. should be a nice battle to the wire between detroit and cleveland for the top spot in the east. lebron is finally playing like a leader and stepping up when the cavs need him most.

If the Cavs could hit a free throw, they'd be dangerous. Unfortunately they are just toying with your emotions again.

I watched the game tonight, and while I think they are a good team... I think they are missing one more piece before they can seriously contend for a spot in the finals. They desperately need to dump Larry Hughes... he sucks, and takes up a major chunk of money in the process of being sucky.

Hughes is our only other source of offensive  . If only he was consistent. WTB Rashard Lewis.

Hughes makes $13 million a year. $13 freakin' million!!! His numbers are not anywhere near $13 million type numbers and he eats up a ton of the Cavs salary.

To give you an idea how ridiculous that is... Chauncey Billups makes $7 million. Rip Hamilton $9 million. Gilbert Arenas $12 million. Steve Nash $11 million.

Hughes plays like a player that should be making $2 to maybe $4 million at best. He's dragging the Cavs salary cap down. If they could lose him, they could get two Chauncey Billups's for the same price.

after blowing out the Lakers on sunday, the Mavs are having their ass handed to them by the Warriors and former coach Nelly. Mavs are down by 29 after 3. our streaks about to end at 17 games unless there's a miracle in the final period.

 i wanted to reach 20 games.
oh well at least this loss will have them even more ready for the Suns wed night.

edit

and it's over. :( lost by 17 to the Warriors.
100-117

W's just play such a different game when Baron Davis is playing, he just sets the tempo and makes plays happen. They also really got work on their road play, it's such a different team on the road, they play stiff and selfish.

You better watch out if W's get that 8th spot, could be an upset in the making.
