On other notes:
- I have Pistons tickets for Dec 26th against New Jersey.
- Iverson won't go to NY... that would be going from bad to worse. His $20 million contract (per year) really is going to make it limited on who will get him. If I had to guess at this point, I'd say the T-Wolves get him.

But I don't particullary want Iverson.
And some good news for the Knicks is brilliant play of Eddy Curry last few (9 ) games. Today already 32 points, 8 rebs, 2 steals, 3 blocks and 1(!!!!) assist. End of third.

I just thought I throw this in for people following the NBA:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 00898.html"
Quote: The NBA has decided to go back to a traditional leather basketball, the league announced yesterday, ending an experiment with a new synthetic ball this season that has been roundly criticized by players. The old ball, which was used for 35 seasons, will return Jan. 1. ... Some players, including league MVP Steve Nash, recently began complaining that the new ball was producing small cuts on their hands.
Thank goodness they are going back to good ol' leather. Bleeding fingers on a basketball is a serious public health issue. What if one of the players had HIV?

Glad they're going back to the old ball.
I can't stand David Stern... everything he's done lately seems to be just plain asinine - making the players dress up before games, the tighter tech rules, the ball fiasco, his trying to control Mark Cuban (I don't like Cuban, but he was/is entertaining), etc...
Has Stern done anything good for the game lately?

Ofcourse!
He'll bring back the old ball in 2007!!
But seriously, zero tolerance rule was great, but watching games last few weeks (though, just Knicks) it seems that it's gone. Players complain, atleast some, yet no techs.

Celtics win again tonight beating the Charlotte Bobcats 106-100. That makes five in a row for the Celtics, and for the moment puts them on top of the of the sad Atlantic Division by a half game over the New Jersey Nets. Whether the Nets win or not tonight, the Celtics will remain in first place.
And if you thought the Eastern Conference wasn't pathetic enough, since the Celtics have the divison lead, if the playoffs were to end today, they would rank as the 3rd seed and face off against the 6th seeded Indiana Pacers.
And Jesus, the 76ers are just pathetic now.

What a wonderful last two minutes of NY-Denver game. We lost by 23 but that was not the highlight. It'll be on BSPN most likely.

I always thought Carmelo Anthony was way too full of himself and that made me dislike him, but now he's also a complete snake and coward. He basically threw a sucker punch then ran, I hope he gets suspended for the rest of the season.
He's a piece of shit, no doubt.

What a fucking idiot. If he gets banned for a while, if I was the rest of the team I wouldn't welcome him back... just ruined the Nuggets season.

Apparantly Iverson is headed to Denver for Joe Smith, Andre Miller, and two 2007 picks.
With the brawl, I wonder if they're ditching Melo... ? Do they have the budget to sustain both superstars? If they do, they become essentially the most unstoppable team in the league.

Will they share the ball? I don't see how both could maintain a 30ppg average. Still a level below Suns/Mavs/Spurs.
And Yao has been unstoppable. Should've won all three games, but at least Rockets are in every game without McGrady, unlike last year. Yao has even done some chest-pounding and used f-word on Kaman ("try to f****** stop that") after a dunk on Sunday.

Bad for both?
Could be. First Denver, who'll be pg, Iverson, or they'll have the smallest backcourt in NBA with him and Boykins? Also, thinking about Anthony and Iverson together...will anyone else in Denver shoot the ball at all?
As for Philadelphia, pretty sucky package to get for Iverson.
Picks prolly in 20+ range (second one is from Dallas apparently), Andre Miller - while great passer, is pretty bad defender and Smith's expiring which helps them - not. Not with Webber still on board. Plus when he is finally away of Phili, they'll have to sign Iguodala to extension (or risk losing him via restricted agency or ufa year later), and without any new signing in equation between now and then, they'll be just some $10m under the cap. Hell, less for sure now thinking...4 first round picks they'll have to sign.

I'm not sure it'll turn Denver into a serious contender for the NBA Championship, but I can't figure out how adding AI would make them worse - unless the team chemistry goes to hell. However, I don't see that happening for a while as they should have a Honeymoon period where everybody loves each other, or pretends to.
Philly is going to be screwed for at least 3 years. They're going to turn into the Golden State Warriors... the whipping boys of the NBA.

Wow, Raptors are leading their division outright now.
They seem to be playing better without Bosh. Winners of 5 out of 6 is pretty impressive considering they should be a dead heap without him.

I saw my first Pistons game at the Palace last night (I hadn't seen them since the Bad Boy days when they played at the Silverdome). Anyhow, it was a fantastic game to go see... a one point controversial victory by the Pistons. The New Jersey Nets coach (Doogie Howser) was so upset over a non-call at the end of the game he had to be restrained so he wouldn't go after the officials.
Rasheed Wallace (the greatest NBA player today) scored 16 points in the 1st quarter and had 4 three pointers. I couldn't have picked a better game.

The godly Knicks whipe the floor with the pathetic looking Pistons and are only one game out of first place in the Atlantic.

Let's tell the whole story... the Knicks (who had 4 days of rest) played a whooped Piston team that was playing the 2nd game of a back to back. It took 3 OT to beat a very tired Piston team. I watched the game - and while it was great - that was not the Pistons at their best by any stretch, and they looked completely run down by the 3rd OT.
Still, the Pistons should have won, and blew the game many times over.

Common, give some props to Knicks as well, you can easily say that they should've won much sooner. End of regulation comes to mind, as silly Jeffries didn't foul, yet NY had foul to give.

Oh, definitely... the Knicks played with a lot of poise and determination. In both of the first two overtimes they were down by 4 or 5 with under 2 minutes left and managed to come back. I don't think they're going to be anywhere near a playoff contender this year, but they are showing signs of life.
