I just want this on record now, so I can look like a genius later on in the season:

- People are overestimating the impact that Ben Wallace will have on Chicago, and doing the same for the impact it will have on Detroit. Chicago will not be much better than it was last year, and Detroit not much worse. Detroit will make it further into the playoffs than Chicago will. However, neither will win the title.

The title will come out of the West this year. You can take all of those predictions to the bank.

Hmm, Toronto doesn't suck this preseason. Actually last year after the 1-15 start they weren't horrific, they went mostly .500 after that... so with some improvement they can maybe be a winning team. Nothing more yet though.

The season starts and the two favorites get embarrassed. Lakers beat Suns without Kobe and Heat get murdered by Bulls

Suns are sloppy and Heat look tired and old.

I realize there is not many team the Warriors can beat, but why did you buy tickets to a game you know they have no chance in? I would have bought tickets to a game they have at least a 50-50 chance in... like the Portland Trailblazers.

Last year the Heat operated under the philosophy that they could turn it on whenever they wanted to, and they coasted during the regular season. The fact they won the Championship only re-inforced that philosophy, which may explain their pitiful performance today.

I would like to think that playing that way will bite them in the ass someday... hopefully it's this year.

wow, what a fucking fantasticly exciting game to start the cavs' season! it's like the first round series has never ended!. the cavs need to work on boxing out and FT's. If they can fix those problems then they should be fine. and how about larry hughes?? 27 points tonight. how huge of a boost would that be if he can play like he did his last year in WAS and score around 20 ppg.

and the bulls got knocked back to earth tonight after beating down a highly unfocused miami team

Glad the Pistons looked good tonight in their win... I was a little concerned after they let Milwaukee score on them at will.

It's still VERY early, but after the first few games, I feel more confident than ever that losing Ben Wallace wasn't that big of a deal, and on the flip side it isn't going to help Chicago that much.

I think the most amazing story early on is the Lakers being 3-0 without Kobe for 2 of those games. If they continue to find a way to work together as a team, they could go really far.

Well I didnt watch the game against Sonics, but they played two incredibly stale and sloppy looking teams in their first two games with Suns and Warriors.

I dont buy Lakers being a good team just yet, will see.

Just like Tony, im glad to see [s]Pistons[/s] Warriors looking better last night. Hopefully they can get 2 wins out of the 3 game road trip then come back home and whoop a Piston teams ass.

Stick a fork in the Bulls... they're done!

They're currently in sole possession of last place of their division. Ben Wallace has got to be feeling really stupid now.

Jazz beat Pistons, now they're 4-0. They're looking very strong aslong as theres no major injuries and they keep putting up this effort they should take the Northwest division with no problem.

Warriors play their first great game of the year against Mavs, finally some real energy in Baron Davis and J Rich is getting closer to becoming healthy.

Pistons should have won that game! The refs are pissing me off with their zero tolerance policy against arguing fouls... Sheed can't even fart now, or they T him up, and I think the refs are getting off on it! Anyhow, even though the Pistons are 2-2, I've been very impressed with them so far. Their offense is better than it ever has been, and the bench is really strong (Maxiel and Flip Murray look very good). Now they just need to work on the defense...

And what is wrong with Dallas?!?! It's not just that they are 0-3, but they lost to the Warriors! Yuck.

Warriors have beaten them on their home floor 4 consecutive times. They just love the place, I guess.

Mavs 0-4

Pistons about to lose to a Kings team without Brad Miller.

Tony, Pistons dont need Wallace? 17 offensive rebounds for Kings.

new prediction: Either the Suns or Mavericks (or maybe both?!) will miss the playoffs this year.

Ya know, I think for me to end up saying Mavs wont make the playoffs i'd have to see them go atleast 0-15.
