Haha, stupid Mets. They're pretty much deer in the headlights now, they don't know what to do. I'm thinking Cards in 5 or 6.

Important game for both obviously tonight, but I think it's moreso do or die for the Mets... Having to beat Carpenter and Suppan back to back, not a position you want to be in.

St. Louis in the drivers seat now. Two chances to close it out with superior pitching, first Carpenter and then Suppan.

I'm gonna go 0-6 but I don't friggin care, this is madness.

If the Mets don't capitalize off that home run saving catch, they're fucked. You can only have the breaks go your way every so often. They need a run and they need to get it in the bottom of the inning.

Yahhhh eat that pie New York!

:cheer: :shout: :cheer: :shout:

Wainright had me worried in the 9th though, seriously. First couple batters he was soooo nervous, but he scraped it out.

I'm thinking Detroit in 6.

So St. Louis, start celebrating.

The Mets really pulled a Cleveland there in the 9th. Loading the bases and getting their fans' hopes up only to fail in the end.

St. Louis in 4. MVP Pujols.

The tigers players have had too much time off and have all contracted VDs from various hookers they've used for celebration.

Minnesota takes the Central on the very last day of the season! Gold.

I'll say: Yankees in 3, Twins in 4, Padres in 3, Dodgers in 5(shocker).

Mets have been terrible lately, ever since clinching it they've slacked off and lost continously, they're rusty because they haven't had anything to play for in a month. I predict that LA will blow out Pedro if he starts the first game, and from there the momentum will be theirs.

This entire playoffs is looking pretty exciting. On one hand in the AL you've got for kick-ass teams, all very dangerous and very capable. In the NL the Mets are way ahead but they've been slipping lately, then the Padres who are playing red hot, and who have the best closing staff in the game, with the Dodgers also decent. St. Louis is the only sitting duck.

 :|

1-6 last year, 0-4 so far this year.

I am undoubtably the worst baseball predictor in the history of mankind.

My picks before the series started would've been Oakland in 6 and the Mets in 5 by the way. Oakies look screwed, but I think I'll get a win by way of the Mets, making me 1-5 going into the World Series... Maybe I can improve on last year... Maybe.

hahahaha

I don't even know how it's possible to be as bad at this as I am, a monkey's ass could destroy me by picking randomly. 1-12 now over 2 years here... Couldn't come close to that if you tried... Crazy.

Maybe six with the Cardinals pitching, but the Tigers win nonetheless.

And shame on FOX. Did anyone else see the father and son Mets fans crying?

The place was dead silent and some of the reactions I saw made you think that tomorrow, you'd be reading about Met's fans on suicide watch or something.. Some of them looked like they wanted to put a gun to their head in almost taking this TOO seriously..

I am happy that the Cardinals won. I didn't what New York to win. Also, they have Eckstein and Speezio, who were both former Angels, so I am rooting for the Cardinals to win over the Tigers because of those two.

I have no idea who I'm rooting for. On one hand you have the Cardinals, whom the Red Sox beat back in 2004. All of their fans seemed nice and seemed to congratulate Red Sox fans (I'm one) when they beat the Cardinals.

On the other, the Tigers are the team that went from 110 losses to an AL Pennant. They also beat the Yankees soundly.

Right now, I want the Cardinals to win, I just don't see it happening. Either way, I won't mind.

That would be better because then they would win in Detroit. And the fans would go crazy!

Why did Billy Wagner not come into the game in the 9th? I know he gave some runs in Game 2, but he is the best pitcher Mets has statistics-wise and a $10.5m guy! He was warming up, so he was only going to come in for a save situation? That's just stupid; I mean, this is post season, Game 7. Mets were clearly out-managed in this series.
