That's the US spirit. Individualism first, team last. That's why they lose every year and that's why they'll lose the Ryder Cup again despite being the better athletes...

I think the U.S. would do better to try and get an existing NBA team to go to these tournys. For instance the Pistons might be nice cause they play defense and are mostly Americans. Maybe the Heat as well. One of our problems is that we assemble these teams and a few weeks later go and play in these tournys. Greece has probably been practicisng with more or less the same team for the past 3-4 years.

Oh yea, and who gives a hell about international competition? I didn't care about the Olympics back when Jordan led Dream team 1 to the title. Now, if the rest of the world started to play Football, I might care...

I wish you just said "I don't care about international competition" instead of what you wrote.

Always wonder what drives people to ask that question when it's pretty obvious that many people do "give a hell" about such competitions. And that from States.


As for having real NBA teams there...many considered that but I really really doubt they would do better. Team 'feeling' might be there, but still, drop in talent would be too much imo.
