Good numbers all around. Wonder how Life Aquatic will hold up this weekend?

Sounds reasonable. I'm predicting about $7,500,000 for the weekend as well.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou 1,105
Is the expansion happening on Saturday as well? So there won't be any TC changes on Friday, correct?

If it made less than $30 million this weekend, I would consider it a dissapointment. Anything over that is not a dissapointment in my eyes. If it got the exact same PTA as the first, it should make $38 million.

 Re: Theater Counts (Christmas Weekend)
ok...so, l'm a bit confused...
l was checking the showtimes for atheater near me, and l saw "The Dark"...it says it was released 01/01/2004 on movietickets...on imdb, there is one listed as a 2005 release...so basically, my question is this...
is this movie: http://imdb.com/title/tt0411267/ that was either release Jan 1, 2004 or sometime next year, playing anywhere? Or does it mean Darkness?
make sense? :?
l hope its not a mistake...cuz this "The Dark" sounds much better than "Darkness"...

I doubt it. I've not heard of a release date for "The Dark" yet.

Weird that Christmas with Kranks is losing that many theaters on Christmas day.

Guess Finding Neverland won't be expanding into 1500 theaters after all. So I guess it is safe to assume it has peaked at the box office.

A few hundred more theaters then Ocean's 12. It's certain to beat it IMO.

More are updated. Puzzled that Sideways continue to lose theaters. Fox is dropping the ball on this. Also don't understand Sony's decision of not publishing House of Flying Daggers' theater count nor the daily numbers, which they did for CTHD even when it was in limited release. That hurts the visibility.

Exactly my thoughts
Seriously, Meet the Fockers just doesn't look great and seeing how Ocean's Twelve somwhat disappointed as well, I don't see this one getting $40 million this weekend.
Now Sideways losing theatres is utterly incomprehendable to me. I mean, c'mon, it's the critics' darling this year and they keep getting it out of theatres :?
Deecent theatre count for Darkness. The release date is a stupid one, but I still hope that some people will see it.

O12 disappointed for its own reasons (a bit of a Whole 10 Yards, Analyze That effect). Meet the Fockers has even better WOM from the original. With DVD I think it has built a bigger fanbase, and it has decent marketing at the very least. I don't think it looks bad at all. From what I hear, and based on the grade at yahoo, it seems to have decent WOM at the very least.
Remember, this is from Jay Roach who also directed another franchise with successful sequels. You know, Austin Powers.
