You know?? I was reading Harry Knowles review of SUPERMAN RETURNS along with some of his other critic wannabe's and there was 1 thing I noticed in their reviews of SR VS Their Review of X3: There HYPOCRITICAL.. That's right, there Hypocritical in the sense that Harry hated X3 so much cause of Continuity Errors and how the Phoenix Saga wasn't spot on like the Comic's, YET From everything I know and have read about the Plot of SUPERMAN, this movie ignored Donner's movie's including SUPERMAN going back to a Planet that blew up in the 1st movie and in the comic's.. How the hell Singer could ignore that and explain why this character was going back to a planet he already knew was toast is Questionable to.. How come Knowles and his critic wannabe's don't touch upon that??? This folks is just 1 of many things I will punch a hole in the size of Krypton when I review this movie.. Bunch of Wankers at AICN in doing shi* like this..

BKB,
I would like to ask you one thing..
BE HONEST when you write a review of Superman Returns (of course, after you HAVE seen it)..
(if you don't like it, then it's fine.. )
and stop calling Brandon Routh gay..
any man could only be dreaming to be as half as hot as Routh..

I'm finally starting to change my thinking on Superman. With the good reviews, solid tracking, and simmering watercooler talk around here, I can now see this getting around a $110M 5-day. This film reaches across all demographics and could open even higher if word spreads fast that this movie isn't just a crappy rehash.

What water cooler talk? Seriously. I work in a fairly large office with pretty diverse group of people and there's zero discussioon about Superman (that isn't mockery). Meanwhile, these same people all wanted to see Spiderman, Batman and X-Men.
I'm just not getting the vibe that general audiences care yet. With solid reviews next Tuesday/Wednesday that could change.

I'm surprised, too, because I work with people considerably older than myself - in their mid 30's and 40's. This isn't exactly the age demo that one would expect to be talking about Superman. I will say that this isn't anywhere near the same level of X-men, but it shouldn't be. Superman has been absent from the big screen for almost two decades.

I'm gonna have to support BKB on the critical quotes picture being a bunch of shills. Earl Dittman? Ugh.

Even though I'm sure reviews will be very good, Warner Bros did a piss-poor job with the "Early Screenings" poster. Seriously, not a dependable critic on there. If they'd been smart, they would have shown it to some of the bigger critics and put there raves on there.
Also, I've quit the SR thread (if you can even call it that) at BOM. Apparently, there are over two billion active Superman fans in the world, 200 million of which live in the United States, and if thirty million of them see the movie (which apparently is likely) four times each, it will easily cruise past Titanic and then proceed to make over $1 billion worldwide. And apparently, Phantom Menace hype is nothing compared to SR, and Star Wars and LOTR don't have many fanboys who will see their movies 6-7 times. And oh yeah, because of the magic of SR, POTC 2 will open to no more than $87 million and be overtaken by SR after one weekend because really nobody cares about Pirates and it will struggle to do $220 million tops, while SR soars to new heights, paving the way for a record run for Transformers next year.
Seriously, I've been laughing pretty hard for the last few weeks. But of course, the biggest laugh of all will come July 10 when actuals are in and Pirates will have blown SR out of the water.

Not to mention, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl opened to $40 million+ only and struggled to pass $300 million. It didn't break any records so why should the sequel?

Precisely!
Plus EW predicted it at $200 million and Hollywood Reporter, random websites that nobody has ever heard of, and supposedly CNN have all said that SR would be bigger. Pirates does $220 million tops. 70 Years of Superman fans, Christians, and everybody else will make it huge! Pirates is just a silly sequel based on a ride.
I could include his *real* post about how I never use logic and that my $285 million (final total) prediction for SR and predicted $120 million opening for Pirates are fantasy land predictions.
I swear, I am so pissed right now. Looking at the extreme lunacy on that thread in particular makes me really glad I joined here where at least I can have an intelligent debate on both SR and POTC2.

Kinda funny he tries to consider the fans from the 30's. C'mon those people don't go to movies anymore. They don't give a shit on what's on the big screen.

Well it's Superman128, anyway. Those dead fans will probably rise from the dead and dig their rotten wallets in order to get a ticket for SR.

"and Superman was no limp-wristed femme in my day! Walking around shooting rainbows out of his hands..."
By the way, did anyone read Harry Knowles interview with Brandon Routh? I really enjoyed how many times Knowles mentioned that Routh's "girlfriend" was in the room.

I wonder when Routh starts taking up scientology and starts his fake marriage soon afterwords. It worked well for 2 of the religion's biggest clients

Or we'll figure in the box office from Heaven and Hell as part of the worldwide total.
