The last 4 Fourth of July movies made more then 50% of their totals in their opening week. I can see Supes going as high as 55%.
And thats a freaking huge number for Pirates. How high have other big openers been?

tv campaign should be in effect now. ive seen several but need to start seeing more soon and on channels besides espn mtv n abc.
Wells is very SR biased so his multiplier is way too high, notice his comment about POTC being a mascara budlight movie. His multiplier also suggest that the movie would be better than Batman Begins because hes basing it on a 7 day total

Okay, can we PLEASE just start deleting Rev's annoying pain in the ass spam in this thread? It adds jackshit to the topic at hand.

Just pointing out which article will mean more to the average reader. And its very rare that Newsweek puts entertainment on the cover. In the last two years, the only movies to make it were The Da Vinci Code (At the beginning of 2006) and Spider-Man 2.

As I said Plan B now is taking place, even people at BOM are starting to come around that Superman Returns wont open as well as they expected. Well certainly not more than X-3's OW that they predicted that Superman will smash. Now they are saying it will do better than Batman Begins multiplier because of the reviews its getting

The only reason they're moving to plan B is because Supes moved to Wednesday...
Don't be a douche...
It will open higher than Batman Begins... but have worse legs. Not much worse... but worse

I dont wont spin it.
My prediction:
85-90 3 day
120-125 5 day
If it does much less than that(like what the tracking of reelsource has it) i wont spin it and admit i was wrong and suprised.

Actually I was still referring to the BOM residents still believing that X-3s OW which was the 4 day total being demolished by SR 5 day take from wed-sun. And yes I am a douche

Saw a new ad during the basketball tonight, with the P.O.D. song. Seemed pretty desperate to me, marketing it like that to0 make it look like the same old superhero crap blow-em-up crap. Don't think it was very effective either, if you ask me.
