if singer leaves j.j. abrams is the man for the script and for the directorial duties. his superman script was amazing...anybody who wants aphysical villain would of L.O.V.E.D. it.

I think most people who didnt love BB was because of how it went into dumb action mode in the 3rd act, though imo it was needed big time.

The problem with BB was that it need more action throughout, not just the 3rd act.. It took itself far too seriously for it's own good.. Still, if I had to pick which restart movie was better(despite only seeing like a dozen SR Trailers which feels like thew whole movie) I'd choose BATMAN BEGINS as being better and the sequel can only mean more action(God I hope)..

It is a PLANT.. What gives it away was the fact that he can't remember how many times Clark Kent changes into SUPERMAN after he just saw the damn thing.. Here's 1 poster's basic take:
PLANT!!! This guy wrote he "Thinks" there was only by JUSTICE41 June 14th, 2006 11:25:02 PM CST One scene of Supes transforming from Routh? He Thinks there was only one scene? Did he see the ####### movie or not. Evertything this Plant wrote was seen in the trailers He said nothing. In fact he's not a Plant just another liar like the X3 liar a few months back. Do you twits even read the things you get or do you just slap em on the site because it's Positive or negative depending on the mood?
Come on.. It's sort of hard to ignore that isn't it?? How about this: How about if WB is so confident this movie is a hit, then why not just release all the reviews or let TIME and NEWSWEEK and the rest of the critics see it and revciew it NOW, The reputable critics, not fanboy critics from sites like Bluefagin_tights.Net..

Well, to be honest, I couldn't even tell you exactly how many times he costume changes, and I really did see it. Maybe
I'm getting senile.
The only thing that REALLY strikes me wrong is the wild crazy love for the kid. I thought the love triangle and James Marsden's character being "the next best thing" to Superman was well handled too.

You know?? I'm getting this vibe that despite Singer stating that he holds Donner's SUPERMAN movie's close to his heart, I can't help but to think he's taken them and reimagined the Origin to along with rehashing the John Williams Score instead of making this his OWN movie and using a different soundtrack, plus the Marlon Brando CGI Bit as well.. See?? This is how George Lucas sold the teaser for EPISODE 1 a Year before the movie even came out.. He used the Old SW Theme Music to sucker people in to thinking that's what it was and when youi finally saw it, it had it's OWN music to accompany it..

Do you have any links to the JJ Abrams Superman script?? I remember they talked about it on AICN years back.

Just because someone works for the WB doesn't mean they have to like their movie's, POSEIDON included.. That's like the folks who claimed to have worked for Lucasfilm LTD or FOX saying how much one of the SW Prequels sucked in the pre-screenings.. I'll wait for the more commercial reviewers to review this to guage any REAL reaction..

arrghh .. .make this superman marketing STOP! Seriously!!
First, till middle of May, no Superman. No word .. hush ... silence. Now its freaking everywhere!! Someone needs to explain to WB that excess of marketing must be coupled with GOOD marketing! right now, all they're doing is telling me that Superman is coming out. On the quality front, other than a couple of TV ads I've seen, they've gone from trying to make the film campy, to Superman looking like hes modelling for "Queers are Us"

God, no. X-Men went downhill with Ratner. (though i acknowledge it's not entirely his fault)
You strike me as one of those teenies i was speaking about yesterday, just give them some tacky villain blowing shit up and they'll eat it up. That's B-movie fair right there.
There's nothing wrong with character development and emotions, you know.

Despite my lack of desire to see Supes - I'm going to be pretty shocked if it isn't significantly better than X3. Ratner and Singer aren't even in the same ballpark.

Just wanted to know what the JJ Abrams script was about - ie. differences with the new script. I recall it was trashed by Harry Knowles.

For starters, Krypton didn't blow up and Lex Luthor was an alien.

Was just at 7/11 and place was filled with Superman Slurpee cups. There were way more than the X3 ones. 7/11 ordered more because they know everyone likes Superman more than having a stupid cup with Callisto and Magneto on it. The buzz is starting.
Also, went to video store last night to rent "Blue Crush" and the guy at the counter told me all copies (one) were out. Obvious the buzz and advertising during NBA and Stanley Cup are working and everyone is trying to familiarize themselves with Kate Bosworth as the new Lois Lane. It is going awesome. WB really pulling out all stops now.
Went to Google just now and typed in "superman". it brought back like 17million results but at the top of the page it said "Do you mean Superman Returns?" Even the google search engine is getting caught up in the buzz. It is working.
New projections:
150m opening weekend
Total - there's no way to do an infinity symbol on my computer.
(Sorry, I just had to get that out of my system)

Call me crazy, but I have serious doubts that Blue Crush is rented out at your video store because people are preparing themselves for Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane on June 28.

JJ Abrahms script was just really bad, I may make fun of SR and dont agree with Singers casting but he was the best candidate for the film out of who they were going to go with (Bay, McG,Abrahms, Ratner)
You want to know how bad JJ Abrahms script was, he was going to turn Superman into an angst ridden superhero who was reluctant to dive into situations. Kind of think old school wolverine who had alot of his old killer instincts, not only that Abrahms wanted to incorparate kung fu fighting in the sky against Doomsday because at the time Matrix was trendy

This actually does happen, though it's usually with bigger stars. The last few weeks
several of Jennifer Aniston's movies have spiked in rentals (Along Came Polly,
Derailed, Rumor Has It). Starting this last week, many of Depps movies that were
just sitting there have started renting again. At my store, Blue Crush has been rented
for the last 3 weeks, (but it may just be someone who didn't return it yet).

Sarcasm as subtle as a jackhammer...
In all seriousness - Superman does have X3 beat in the all-important Slurpee arena. The cups have some soap opera actor and Kevin Spacey on them in hologram form. The tops are thick red plastic with the Superman logo. Admittedly, they are cool.

It happened with X-Men... I'd only seen X-2 (but a TV-edited version), so I went to Blockbuster to rent the first two movies before going to X-3, and they were all out... and I went to more than one location.
I watched those 11 SR clips from IESB on YouTube.... Meh. The effects don't match the kinda money spent on this film, and the actors.... eek. When Clark's mom mentions him being gone 5 years, I was like, "So how old was he was he when he left? Fifteen?" I mean *honestly*, Brandon and Katie just look and sound WAY too young. And Lex seems too... excitable. I dunno if I'm just used to the more dark and mellow Lex from Smallville, but... yeah.
The only clip I enjoyed (aka it didn't feel "been there, done that") was the great "Superman can see through anything" scene. That was hilarious.

Did they look as cool as the Dolph Lundren he-man 7-11 cups. Those were extremely cool back then, I wanted a Skeletor one back then but they ran out of it. Hopefully the slurpee cups has a picture of Superman having his hands on hips pose. Nothing beats the hands on hips pose since it basically spells out heroism and confidence
