another mini review.
First Superman Returns review!
Whoa!
Life. As I sit down and rewatch the classic 1978 Superman -- will be doing the entire series this month -- a close friend is attending a Los Angeles press junket watching the new film!
A couple of minutes ago, the lucky dog sent me a frenzied mail with his first impressions of the film. Most of it is hard to decode, replete with excited typos, but here are some bits I could piece together.
I'm more excited than ever now, and just had to share this with you guys:
Amazing special effects. Completely mindblowing.
Brandon makes a convincing Superman.
Lois Lane seems to have more dialogue, though.
Kevin Spacey is b-r-i-l-l-i-a-n-t.
And then the bit that breaks my heart because of Hyderabad: The best part was the IMAX 3-D portion. unbelievable.
Oh. My. God. I can't wait.

Yay! It said June 28th.

Thats odd since I remember him digging the shit out of BB. Guess he doesnt want them to use Joker and such over again. That would basically take away all the popular villians from the comics.

That's always been the point of almost every single KJer, and it's true. Batman has always outperformed Superman in the BO. But WB is actually picking the marketing up for SR, and it's good to know that WB won't make the same big mistake that they did with BB. As of right now, $20-$40 million above BB seems reasonable.

That won't be the case with SR.

yes it will.
and also eventine, only batman 1 outperformed superman in the BO adjusted... you cant compare a film from 1989 and a film from 1978 without using adjusted numbers.

There's absolutely no way that will happen.

I still see June 30 on everything Superman I see. Even with Tuesday night screenings, the OD probably won't be above 20 million.

joblos sources say its good but not great because it has too much romance and not enough action, and says it might be boring to ther younger crowd. he says routh and bsoworth are great but lexs plan is stupid.
frankly i dont know what this tells you about the movie, as you can say the exact same thing superman the movie, spiderman 1 and 2.

Lex's plan does seem a bit wonky to me, I'm surprised I was the only one to mention it in the trailer's thread. He wants to create a continent? It just doesn't seem menacing enough.

Adjust the whole franchise. Batman owns Superman by a huge gap.

$200 million from just the fanbase alone is pushing it.

Doesn't mean it's whole fanbase will go watch the movie. Batman had a pretty big fanbase also.
EDIT: and still does
