There's absolutely no way that will happen.

"It’s going to be hard for any superhero movie to beat the magisterial bearing Singer so emphatically summons"
did he just basically say this is ne of the best if not the best superhero movies ever made? magisterial means superio.

I still see June 30 on everything Superman I see. Even with Tuesday night screenings, the OD probably won't be above 20 million.

joblos sources say its good but not great because it has too much romance and not enough action, and says it might be boring to ther younger crowd. he says routh and bsoworth are great but lexs plan is stupid.
frankly i dont know what this tells you about the movie, as you can say the exact same thing superman the movie, spiderman 1 and 2.

Lex's plan does seem a bit wonky to me, I'm surprised I was the only one to mention it in the trailer's thread. He wants to create a continent? It just doesn't seem menacing enough.

Adjust the whole franchise. Batman owns Superman by a huge gap.

$200 million from just the fanbase alone is pushing it.

Doesn't mean it's whole fanbase will go watch the movie. Batman had a pretty big fanbase also.
EDIT: and still does

I saw X2 again this weekend and I must say I'm very confident in SR now. Bryan Singer is very talented; even more than Sam Raimi.

this article is funny.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13232850/
could we be in store for some big tracking on monday?
Access' movie guru Scott Mantz says the “Superman Returns†is “...the most hyped movie since ‘Star Wars: Episode III.’ The movie's been in development for more than 10 years. There hasn't been a Superman movie for 19 years. It has a reported budget of more than $300 million, making it one of the most expensive movies ever made. The hype is more powerful than a locomotive, but will the movie leap tall buildings in a single bound?â€Â
also mentions the buzz is becoming a "defeaning roar".

Damn! The signs are still there.
IMO, Spiderman is superior to most of the most recently released comic book adaptations, except Batman Begins, and critics agree with me on that.
I loved X-Men and X-2, and I think Bryan Singer is extremely talented, but not quite as much as Sam Raimi.

Not to look all anti-Superman or anything but its mostly the norm where movies have positive reviews start popping up till the mixed ones get in. They did the samething for WOTW where some of the critics were saying it had alot of heart and was one of Spielberg's best since ET. But later on when it was shown to public on the midnight screenings, the word was mixed and there were alot of mixed reviews coming in for the movie. Im not saying SR will be as mixed as WOTW but generally positive reviews are leaked to the public first. I still expect the movie to finish about 70% at RT, maybe even low 80s. But at least its good to know Singer did a good job so in case if the movie does bad, it would be the TW that would be to blame

By the way excel, that Boston Herald quote is not referring to the movie itself, it's referring to the gravity he gives the character of Superman himself. If you follow that sentence, it ends with "...as in one memorable shot Superman is seen suspended in space, his dusty-colored cape twirling, an ancient god come from the heavens."

Funny how I just said in another thread this same thing, that WB will do everything in there Power to sell this movie by posting as many positive reviews from Hyperbolic fans to sell this, that don't actually review the movie and I'm labeled Stupid for it.. Give an actual REVIEW of this and will discuss it further..
