I still think that changing the release date so late will affect its OD quite a lot because TV spots are most effective during spring season, when hit TV shows are drawing to a conclusion. Most people are aware that SR opens on June 30th because TV spots shown in shows like American Idol say so and chances are most of them are probably done watching TV. The only statistic I could use to back this up is the declining TV ratings during summer.

TV spots won't do as much as you think.

Heh, funny stuff.

Quote:
On a much lighter note, cast members Brandon Routh, Kevin Spacey and Kate Bosworth of the upcoming "Superman Returns" presented the award of "best hero" to Christian Bale, star of last year's hit "Batman Begins."

After thanking director Christopher Nolan "for getting rid of those bloody nipples" on the bat suit worn by George Clooney in Batman and Robin," Bale turned to Routh and said, "I'm sorry Superman, but Batman is the bada**."

Bale also paid tribute to his wife who he called "my personal Wonder Woman" then thanked the fans "for embracing the rebirth of Batman. There will be more!"

Oh boy, Bosworth is doing the anorexic thing.

I think once both franchises wear out their welcome will see Batman vs Superman, for one last bang. I dont know if Bale would do it since he'll be a oscar winning actor by then who doesnt need to resort to stuff like that, BUT dont worry Routh will still be there, since he wont have anything on his plate

Still doubt it'll be enough to have a big OD. Friday will be bigger than its OD, I still think.

What does the opening day have anything to do with the quality?

WOM is not determined prior to the opening day, it's after.

I guess that pic should close the mouth of all who think Rough is to small and skinny. Bale was portrayed as Beast in Batman so I can easy see that you can Rough making look like a muscular strong Superman.

Kong's was more of school still being in session on its first two days. If by any chance SR gets bad WOM, I still think Friday will be bigger because that's the day most people know of.

Ad right in top right corner for Pepsi SR promo.

Here's the funny thing: On ad, it says June 28th. BUT when you click on it and you get the page, on the bottom it says June 30th.

Things will be intresting come OD. A low or high OD could mean anything. Low OD could mean that it may be a Shrek 2, or a high OD could show that maybe people did get the date change.

SUPERMAN SELLS OUT!!! YEAH!!!! Its great for BO. It ruins the icon of the charecter a bit, but its great for BO.

superman has always been a sellout in movies. watch superman 2's fight in metropolis. must of been 100 different product placements. superman returns is loaded with em too. huge tv screen saying EA GAMES, taxi cab logo for mountain dew, jimmy drinks budweiser, jason eats doritos.
