rumored for EITHER June 20th 2008, or May 17th 2008 (only 2 fates actually mentioned in rumors) and having the joker as the villain, and evenb with better johnny depp being n w.b. top canadate list, this will be big.
So, like those films above, its sequel will surely expand on its box office take. right now i say
75/250 if markted like the original but isnt as good 86/265 million domestic if marketed better 95/320+ if its as good as the original. 100/340+ if better then original and markted better.
Christ, considering this sequel won't be out til 2009, this is WAYYY too early for predicting something like this.. Christ, they haven't even barely filled a Cast for the movie much less a script even being written..

your an idiot.
they announced months ago in that jonathan nolan and chris nolan were "now" writing the script based on a story by chris nolan david goyer. "now" refers about 6-7 months ago, n its being written by the same guys who wrote the first.
it was said theyd befollowing the begins path-casting in late 2006 n early 2007 with filming starting early 2007 for a summer 2008 release.
weve known that for friggen ever.
freeman bale caine holmes n oldman are all returning acocrding to what nolans said, and theres joker and dent for sure to cast along with rumors of penguin n another villain.
w.b.s wishlists supposed has johnny depp atop joker list n liev schreiber for dent. nolan appearently wants lachy hulme-matrix movies-for joker n shreiber for dent. nobody knows bout pengy though joe pesci seems like a no brainer.
a release date could be coming as soon as september, when the rumored site will supposably go live with the title n date. this isall rumor from a few months of scoopage from the very reliable batman-on-film.com

She's so dying in the film though. No one cares one lick about her as an actor anymore, if they ever did. WB would probably just assume that she not even be in the film. Who knows though? Maybe people will feel sorry for her that she has been sucked in by Cruise's kookiness.

She's dying because at one point they didnt even have her being in the sequel, they mentioned having a new leading lady, then they decided to sign her back up, most likely to kill her off. Her character is of little significance now anyways, we know she doesnt wanna be with Bruce, her character has no reason to develop anymore. Joker killing her would make perfect sense in the scheme of things, for one it would fuel Batman's hatred for Joker.

Still, massive potential:
133m/340m
It doesn't matter how great the legs for BB were though, it will be frontloaded.
As I think about it, it should really be more frontloaded. 139m/340m.

Thats a good point about being a dark movie might limit how wide it's audience can get, especially now that Nolan is aiming for a darker film with the second.

The movie wont be shooting until 07' and her role will most likely be minor seeing as im sure she'll die. She's still gonna act, if you didnt notice already Cruise/Holmes are kinda odd.
Hulm is still very much in the running I would say
Quote: Lachy Hulme Talks Joker, Part 2 Author: Jett Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 6:19 AM CENTRAL TIME: Have you ever noticed that Bat-news seems to come in spurts? Anywho, "Aussie BOF'er" emailed me a detailed report of Mr. Lachy Hulme's rumored Australian radio appearance -- which isn't a rumor. Here it is:
I'm a Bat-fan and tuned in to hear Lachy Hulme being interviewed on "The Tony Martin Show" this morning. They have been promoting his appearance and I tuned in to hear what he might say about playing The Joker.
Hulme was the special celebrity co-host, and Tony Martin asked him about all The Joker rumours. Hulme said that he had met with the producers but said he wasn't really allowed to talk about it. He also said that he was a huge Batman fan and had been all of his life, and was now collecting Batman stuff because it was tax deductible for him now! Tony Martin then said that he had recently watched "Batman Begins" on DVD with Hulme, and that Hulme would pause the DVD and explain how certain shots from the film were based on Batman comics, and could even recite the comics that each shot was from! That made me think (although Hulme didn't say) that he was seriously researching the whole Batman culture, kind of like a "method" actor.
[Regarding The role of The Joker], Hulme said that big roles like The Joker normally go to much bigger stars than him, and Tony Martin responded that no one wants to see Paul Bettany do another villain after his crappy work in movies like "Firewall" and "The Davinci Code", to which Hulme just laughed and said he hoped Warner brothers agreed with him!
But he kept saying also that he wasn't allowed to say much about the rumours. He was quite secretive about it all. Tony Martin said that he really hoped that Hulme got the part. He also said that when he first heard the rumours, he didn't think Hulme could pull it off, but now that he knows Hulme and has seen his work, he thinks he would be awesome in the role. He also said how much Hulme looks exactly like The Joker from the comics. One funny bit happened when Tony asked Hulme how all the rumours started, and Hulme said he didn't know, and Tony Martin suggested it might have been The Riddler, or maybe Egghead! That made Hulme laugh.
For the rest of the show they talked about movies that they loved, and didn't talk about Batman anymore. I hope this helps for all of your readers.

"A source tells Pagesix.Com, "Everyone is in agreement that the movie's strength is with Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman." Adding of Holmes, "She won't be in the sequel... the next romantic interest will be a much stronger actress. Warner is happy that people are now focusing on who'll be playing the Joker rather than Katie and Tom." "
magnus that report was bs from fans who think batman shouldnt have a love interest. dont believe lok at any batman message board, their loath of holmes was spawned before we saw any footage or pics of her. id know, iwas there, and thats why i wasnt surprised in the least that people took out a lot of frusteration n her n her relationship with tom cruise. w.b. has eben asked and they just said that "their very happy with the job she did in the movie and for the movies promotion". Nolan caine and Bale did an interview with a brittish paper n all said they "adore her" and want her to come back for a sequel with nolan saying he thought she was "an exceptional actress".
I' would assume she will be back. most defiently she will. but cause she really doesnt have a thign with bruce anymore, shell just have a smaller role. rumor is, she will be working very closely with harvey dent, if you know what i mean.

Could Robin Williams be in the running?
From BoF
Quote: Robin Williams really in the mix? Author: Jett Wednesday, June 28, 2006 - 2:04 PM CENTRAL TIME: Could Robin Williams really enter the mix to play The Joker? Could be. At first I dismissed it and figured RW was getting some run due to his prior association with Chris Nolan. But Williams seems to want the part -- bad.
As a result, I’ve been doing a bit of digging on this for you all and myself. I had one of my “industry insiders†tell me that if Mr. Williams wants the job, he’d certainly “be right there in the mix†for the role. "How could Warner and Nolan NOT seriously consider him," our source said. Anyway, I’m still on it and have made a few calls and emailed various sources and I’m waiting for a response -- which may not come until next week after the 4th of July…
Well Williams can play both comedic and psychotic which the Joker calls for, you never know. I dont think so though, honeslty I belive that they already got their Joker, they just arent officialy announcing it yet.

That would be... interesting. Certainly much different from Nicholson's Joker. I just don't think Williams is dark enough to do it. And this Joker would have to be dark to fit in the movie. I dunno, we'll have to see who WB chooses.

Yeah, he's too short and stocky. Joker has to be tall and skinny.
Depp could pull off a mean Joker. This man can do anything. Though I doubt he'll take the role.

Williams was excellent in Insomnia and One Hour Photo. He can play dark characters, but I don't know if he'd be right for Joker.
Then again, I can't picture anyone other than Nicholson. Or maybe Crispin Glover.

Exactly, you cant really picture someone in a role such as the Joker untill you actually finally see them. I think they'll go with this unknown Hulme guy, probably the best way to go, but I do think it would be a good idea to get a high profile actor to play Two-Face/Harvey Dent
