Dude, this is far from perfect.. The rubber suit he's wearing is as laughable as it get's, the shoulder pads make's this guy out to be more of a woman than Man and while were at, the slim build and 4 inch heels on the boots is the icing on the cake.. Why Singer didn't just use the costume Reeve wore(since he's borrowed the score Williams composed from Donner's movies along with a CGI Marlon Brando that he also stole to put this movie over) is baffling and would've looked much better and more natural..

Superman Returns: The Inspirational Image
Importance of the atmospheric listening post.

June 1, 2006 - Two weeks ago, we were most pleased to deliver you the poster for Superman Returns. Since then, feedback on the design has been positive. Some of you were pleasantly surprised, and others were simply glad to see it; since the image isn't entirely unfamiliar. The poster was inspired by an original painting by artist Alex Ross. The painting not only inspired the poster, it served as inspiration for director Bryan Singer and production designer Guy Dyas throughout the making of the movie.

When we visited Dyas in his office at Fox Studios (Sydney, Australia), on a far wall in an area they call "The Workroom," there was a large, full-color print of Ross' painting. It was prominently displayed among storyboards and conceptual artwork. When Dyas, Singer, and screenwriters Dan Harris and Mike Dougherty needed artistic focus, Ross' painting provided perspective. "This was a hugely inspirational drawing for Bryan," says Dyas. And so much so, Singer created a sequence for it in the movie, and even used a clip from it as the closing shot for the teaser trailer.

Early in pre-production, Days says the filmmakers asked themselves: "How does Superman save everybody in the world? How does he do his job?" The answer, they found, was in Ross' painting. "The idea is that there's this listening post that's way up there in the atmosphere. He's just up there in the atmosphere, basically listening."

As the scene appears in the movie, "It's set to beautiful classical music," says Dyas. "You go into his ear, where you basically hear all the sounds around the world of people in trouble. Then "Woosh!" Off he goes. It's exactly what Superman needs to do so that you don't think, 'What's he doing? Saving everyone in Metropolis and nobody else gets any help?' There are actually shots of this that have been done which are really spooky. You get shivers up your spine."

Yeah, that muscle suit is the exact same one Routh wears in the movie, Abs, shoulder pads and all.. Singer couldn't actually find someone with an actual REAL build to him for the part so he used a padded suit....

You bring up an extremely good point with that poll.
Once again like most of us here have argued, if Batman had a hard time reaching 200 million why wouldnt Superman struggled
Time and again, the fanatics bring up internet searches of Superman leading against Pirates, we did a similiar search with Batman vs Superman and clearly it shows Batman with the most searches by a good margin.
And again they keep bringing up on how Superman has more appeal than Batman, we brought up the movie numbers of the two franchise and its no contest Batman wins
They keep bringing up on how much hype there is mainly on the internet and articles, we have once again shown on how many searches Batman has and its article

in the 80s it was a big tie. now a days burger king is the biggest and best promotional partner available, with pepsico being number.

hence why most big films-spidermans, star wars prequals-now superman-do tie ins with both.

Guys, these polls where Batman beats Superman isn't just about the film Batman Begins being so great. Does it take some part? Yeah, sure, but you all need to look at reality. Superman would have beat Batman in a poll like that 20 years ago, but these days, Spider-Man and Batman are easily more popular. Superman isn't an icon like he used to be.

hs an icon. but he hasnt had a movie recently. in 99 suypes woulda beaten both of em. in 04 spidey would maul batman. but now batman would win cause of his movie.

that said, batman 2 already has mega online hype. its been the number 1 most ooked at page EVERY DAY since was created at yahoo in may.

online polls mean nothing-even its 1,000,000 to 0 in favor of superman. whatdoes mean somethin? all the awareness this film is now recieving. with no big films o this all month, the press has already shifted attention to it as evidenced by the numerous press reports lately. msnbc even did its own report on superman movie up 2 days, n called it "an event". last summer batman moved up, i saw bout 1...2 articles on it.

.

When one of the most expensive films in history changes its release date just a month before the scheduled released, you'd think it would be a big deal, y'know?

June 2006 Forecast
By Michael Bentley
1) Superman Returns

The Man of Steel is back. Gone are Margot Kidder, Gene Hackman, Sidney J. Furie (I guess Alan Smithee wasn't invented yet), and the late Christopher Reeve. Replacing them are Kate Bosworth, Kevin Spacey, Bryan Singer, and Brandon Routh (who?). Director Singer gambled and jumped ship from the lucrative X-Men franchise - something that many mutant fanboys are probably shaking their fists at right now - and took a chance on reviving what was once America's most beloved comic.

It is easy to wonder if the last Superman movie - the absolutely terrible Superman IV: The Quest for Peace - will haunt Superman Returns and scare people away from seeing it, as likely happened to some degree with Batman and Robin on last year's Batman Begins. I tend to suspect that the impact from the negative karma of Superman IV will be negligible. It has been nearly 20 years, compared to just eight for the Caped Crusader. There are a number of factors in its favor: the sizeable built-in audience of comic fans, people curious to see what Singer does with it, and of course it will have the long weekend prior to July 4th with little direct competition. However, though it probably won't matter much (except maybe in the long run) but I can't help but wondering if casting a complete unknown in the title role was a mistake.

Opening weekend prediction: $82 million + $53 million Wed-Thu.

no final projection made, a 5 day of 135 million assures 250 million, cause itll get at the very minimum a 2 multiplier for its 5 day.
