PotC2 has contests, too. Skittles and Starburst have codes for a contest to win $100,000. In New Zealand, I believe, there is a contest to win a trip to the Disneyland premiere of the movie (a VERY valuable prize, as access to the premiere is SEVERELY limited).
PotC also has (in addition to M&Ms and McDonalds) Lunchables, a cereal that's been on shelves far longer than any SR tie-in, fruit snacks, Megabloks, a whole line of Zizzle toys such as figures (which scale *perfectly* with Star Wars action figures, just as a side note), playsets, 12" figures, electronic pinball, Jack Sparrow dress up kits (one in a regular kit, one a collector's kit that comes in the Dead Man's Chest), electronic pistol and cutlass, Monopoly, Game of Life, chess (two different sets), Liar's Dice, and apparently a DVD game (I've not seen that myself yet). Then of course there's the books, including coloring/activity books, sticker books, a "Look and Find" book similar to Where's Waldo, a 7-book series of pre-teen novels about Jack Sparrow as a teen (and these books are being bought already by *non* pre-teens), Visual Guide, movie storybook, other storybooks, MadLibs, and much much more.
And of course you've got all the stuff at Hot Topic, Spencers, and Claire's, including notebooks, diaries, lanyards, pillowcases, comforters, necklaces (Aztec coin, locket with skull & crossbones w/pic inside, etc.), wallets, book bags, NECA action figures and 18" Jack figure, stickers, patches, buttons/pins, pens, paper, T-shirts.... shall I go on?
PotC2 OWNS the teen market. And it's doing quite well in the kiddie market, and the adults are having just as much fun with the teen and kid oriented products as the teens and kids are. I know middle-aged moms who are buying the toys just for themselves!

Your Superman prediction is going to go down as badly as the Wii system compared to the x360

When you live in a barrio you know everyone.
Anyway, who will release the tracking tommorow?
I guess the tracking will start at about 60-70mill, then go up as the release gets closer just like all big blockbuster films.

All this merchandise isn't going to save this movie, just like it didn't for The HULK.. All the merchandise and HERSHEY Tie-ins for that movie are sitting in a warehouse somewhere collecting dust.. You know what?? I'm through toying with you bitches.. I'M IN.. I say this movie is lucky to even muster pass 200 Million.. Bottom line is: No kid gives a shi* about SUPERMAN, No Teen gives a shi* about SUPERMAN, and the Adults who grew up on Donner's 70's films were content to let this lie with Christopher Reeve in his Grave and won't give a shi* about this either.. With that, you have the internet left which is comprised of about 1% of the real world and translated= A BUST..

I know what I've said over the past few months about Superman not passing $250 million and all, but sorry fellow sane predictors (or, now it's insane), I have to switch because of this:
I just can't see how it won't make $500 million total with tie-ins like that...
