Beauty by Smith. Absolute beauty.
This is by far the best series going on right now. The others just can't hold a candle to this.

Another goal by the Oilers. Another beauty. The crowd is going insane.

And another goal. This should seal the victory.

This is huge for the Oilers!! I think they can take the series now, 4-2!!

Woot! What a game! It was fun to watch, regardless of who won. And Edmonton winning just puts the icing on the cake.
PEACE, Mike.

Yes yes yes! That game was awesome, and this series is definitley one of the most involving I've ever witnessed. Rexall place is such an advantage for them right now, they can't go wrong with an amazing crowd like that. I think they'll take the series now, they just have to steal 1 of the 2 in San Jose, while cleaning up at home as usual. Plus San Jose and Toskala are so crushed right now, I wouldn't be surprised to see it done in 6.
Oilers fricken rule!

I think you're right. If they can win the next game in San Jose, then I think they can definitely win game six back in Edmonton. That crowd is nuts. No wonder Toskala got chased. He couldn't concentrate.

Holy shit. The Nersey vs. Carolina game is currently on, and New Jersey is winning 5-1!
The coach PULLED Ward! He let in 3 goals in the 1st period. Then Gerber let in another 2 in the 2nd, which is currently going on right now. Just amazing, since Ward had apparently been doing so spectacular before, and now he is being pulled. It confirms my thoughts that Carolina really has no very strong goalie. Gerber was supposed to be their #1 for the playoffs, but then Ward was put in. And now Ward is pulled to be Gerber in.
If any team could come back after a 3-0 deficit in the series, I think it is New Jersey. I'm biased though, because I like New Jersey.
PEACE, Mike.

I agree the Devils have the best chance to come back. They've rattled Ward now, and they've got a definite chance.
Ottawa has outplayed Buffalo this series, but they've beat themselves. It's too bad, because I thought they could go all the way at the beginning of the year. They're who I'm pulling for in the East right now, but it doesn't look like they can make it.
Anaheim's just sitting back, waiting for San Jose and Edmonton to beat each other up. They're the definite favorites in the West.
If the final is Anaheim/Carolina, no one in Canada will watch. You can guarantee that.

Yeah, that New Jersey game was brutal. Carolina is the one team I really don't like, so I guess I'm pulling for a New Jersey comeback as well.

Not a good start for you guys. It's 1-0 Buffalo already.
But look at the Edmonton game last night - Edmonton was down 2-0 early, and they came back from that. So anything can happen.

1-1 now. Ottawa had tons of chances and could only get the one goal, though.

I think it's a combination of Miller's suprising fantastic-ness and plain ol' bad luck.
I've noticed that Emery goes down on his knees prematurely at times, leaving the net wide open. Hopefully Ottawa will srape by tonight and allow him to better himself for game six.

Wow, what a goal. Shorthanded! Buffalo moves on!
Incredible how these series have been so short. Anaheim wins in 4, Buffalo wins in 5.

Is Ottawa always going to have this playoff curse? They always appear to play wonderfully in the regular season, and then just really fall apart in the playoffs.
PEACE, Mike.

I knew Ottawa would lose the series, so perhaps it's better they just lost now instead of dragging it out.
I looked over that stat I was talking about earlier, about teams coming back after a 3-0 deficit in a series. I was wrong about there being only 4 teams in history doing it. In actuality, only TWO teams in the HISTORY OF THE NHL have come back to win a series after a 3-0 deficit. Those would be the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Islanders. Montreal did not just do it recently; they won the 3rd game in the series against Boston last season, and therefore were not ever down 3-0 in the series.
So *sticks tongue out* at Cotton who questioned me. Hehe.
PEACE, Mike.

Poor New Jersey. Carolina in the Eastern Conference Finals, ugh.
I'm kind've disappointed none of the 3-0 series went past 5 games. I was hoping to see some sort of comeback, or almost comeback. Thank god Edmonton vs San Jose is such a good series, hopefully Edmonton wins so there's at least something to cheer for in the final 4. 14 minutes, woot woot!
