Losing to Bucks by 20 means this team isnt the favorite for shit. They're not going to the finals and sweeping Spurs, not even close. It'll be just as close as last year.

Wow wow wow, the real mvp comes through again. Suns dug themselves the biggest hole possible. LA Clippers vs LA Lakers next round.

Each game minus a few here and there so far have been great, just some really solid playoff action all around.

Have you ever seen the Pistons before? Getting blown out here and there is not unusual for them. Heck, the year the won the Championship they barely made it out of the Conf Semis and got blown out twice by New Jersey. Take if from somebody who has watched nearly every game of the Pistons this year... this is hardly unusual for them. And they're still 39-4 at home... and the championship runs through their home court.

Also, what makes you think the Spurs are doing much better? They are a Brent Barry lucky shot away from being down 2-1. I sincerely doubt at this point they'll even make it to the finals... they look pretty sad, wheras the Mavericks are really getting it done.

On to the games today... They were great games! Those Suns can't close out a game to save their life, and Steve Nash is really sucking it up giving up the ball twice at the end of regulation and overtime that sealed the game for LA. Kobe certainly is showing up Nash.

Miami will likely still win the series, but they look defeated and are falling apart. It reminds me of when the Lakers self destructed against the upstart Pistons in the finals of 2004. The Playoffs certainly make or break some team, and it appears win or lose this will strengthen the Bulls stock whereas Miami is a broken team now.

Looking sad? They arent losing to Bucks by 20, they're playing as mediocre as the Spurs can and they only lost one game so far with some lame no foul call. Just wait for tonight when Spurs are gonna do laps around Kings.

At the end of the day, yes Pistons will have an easier time getting to the finals, but thats because competition in the East is looking very weak, Heat are getting spanked by Bulls, Nets showing the run they had at the end of the season was a fluke, and i mean theres really nothing standing in Pistons way but that doesnt mean they'll win the finals easy. Spurs dont play mediocre for alot of games in a row.

I'll agree with you there... I'd much rather be in the Eastern Conference. However, I'd feel a little more comfortable if the Pistons get "battle tested" before the finals by somebody. Right now I don't see anybody giving them a run for their money until the finals. As Flip Saunders said, the Pistons are only playing against themselves. If they lose it's because they beat themselves, not because another team did it.

And when the Pistons lose in spectacular fashion like they did the last game, it is nearly always because they forget who they are - they begin to think they are offensive studs and forget the defense. They took nearly 30 three pointers out of 70 shots in that loss, resulting in many fast break points for Milwaukee and in the end gave up 120 points. That's the Pistons beating the Pistons... not the Bucks beating them.

In many ways the Spurs are the same way... when they lose it always looks like it is them beating themselves, and not the other team. My worry about them is there hasn't been a game yet in the playoffs where I thought they looked like they were running at 100%. At least the Pistons blew out the Bucks twice at home and looked very good in those wins.

Nash was definitely calling a timeout at the end... a little questionable, but you can't blame the refs for a no call or a missed call at the end of the game. That's the easy way out... calls go both ways throughout a game.

Well that 30 point win over the Kings looked pretty damn good, lets see what they do tonight, gotta show them who the champions are.

Ah yes... the 30 point win was a good game. I do hope the Spurs win tonight, I like them... they're probably my second favorite team as they remind me a lot of the Pistons... hard working, good teamwork, and no big egos. Plus I would prefer the Pistons beat the Spurs in the finals. Anything less would be slightly anti-climatic.

So, it's 3-1 Lakers? Wow. Kobe is definitely stepping up, he's playing like a team player which I applaud him for. The Spurs will kill them in the second round, but I still like the story of the LA rebound.

Spurs won't face them in round #2. It'll be the winner of the Denver-Clippers series. So, if the Clippers and Lakers win, there will be an LA team in the Western Conference finals.

Heh, I really wonder how long James will say in Cleveland. Cavs can get a couple of great players if they decide to trade him and it would be for the better, cause this really is looking like a one man team. Cavs have a few decent players but they're pretty inconsistent. Reason why I think they wont trade James for awhile is because of $$$$ he brings alot of people in the seats.

I think James is there to stay. They'd be better trying to land another player to go with James, as opposed to trading him. Perhaps Allen Iverson... that would be interesting, but probably not in a good way for Cleveland fans.

As long as they keep their hands off Ben Wallace.

Wow... you sure ate your words there! I guess you made fun of Detroit for losing by 20 a bit too soon. :hahaha:

Thats a pretty monster contract they'd have to deal with and I mean common Iverson? Two leaders on one team? Not gonna work. It's hard to make a great team when your whole team revolves around one player with a monster salary. Thats why teams like Timberwolves and 76ers are not in the playoff and teams like Spurs and Pistons are at the top.

Greed will never get you far, take a pay cut, your kids arent gonna starve like Sprewells.

Yeah, Spurs are eating it worse though. It's like the Kings are to Spurs what the Warriors were to Mavericks. Bucks are no Kings though, Kings are a better team, but it's different losing once bad compared to twice with one of those losses by 20.

Kings may be slightly better than the Bucks, but lets be real here... they are both 8 seeds playing the #1. Neither are the elite teams in the league. The Spurs are one 3 pointer away from being down 3-1. That shouldn't be happening here.

With that being said, I'm not that worried for the Spurs yet. The Kings still have to win at San Antonio and 2 of the next 3... I just don't see that happening. Ditto if the Pistons lose to Milwaukee tomorrow. It would be concerning, but until either #8 team can win on the road, it'll be a moot point.

I'm still sticking with all the big guns in the league... Detroit, SA, and Miami will pull their respective series out.

Checking back with my initial predictions, I'm going to be off on Phoenix and Denver, but other than that I'm still ok. Note that I picked Detroit to lose 1, as they always do.

Quote:
1st Round

East
Detroit Pistons in 5 over Milwaukee
Miami Heat in 6 over Chicago
New Jersey Nets in 6 over Indiana
Washington Wizards in 6 over Cleveland

West
San Antonio Spurs in 5 over Sacramento
Phoenix Suns in 5 over the Lakers
Denver Nuggets in 7 over Los Angeles Clippers
Dallas Mavericks in 5 over Memphis

Kings were never suppose to even be in the playoffs, they were pretty far back but then were resurrected once Artest changed the team around, they're an 8th seed that would've been higher if this was the team at the beginning of the season. Either way though being 8th in the east isnt the same like being 8th in the west.

I just think the Kings match up well with the Spurs. They met twice before they got Artest in the regular season, and the Spurs barely won both times. One was a 1 point victory in SA and the other a 3 point victory in Sacremento. Plus trading Peja for Artest wasn't like it changed the team dramatically. Peja wasn't dead weight.

But you can try to justify the Spurs nearly being down 3-1 any way you want... whatever helps you sleep at night. But don't drag my Pistons down to their level as they're not the ones who are getting spanked by a #8 team. Were still up 2-1 and blew out of the Bucks twice.

Nash should've never been in that situation to begin with.
