Hopefully it won't be overshadowed by this:

VIENNA, Austria - Italian police seized 100 syringes, 30 packages of antidepressants and asthma medication during Saturday's raids at the Austrian biathlon and cross country teams' private lodging at the Turin Olympics, Austrian television reported Monday....

The raid at the Austrians' quarters happened Saturday night. Six skiers and four biathletes were rousted and taken for tests by the International Olympic Committee, hours before some were due to compete. One Austrian athlete threw a bag out of a window containing needles and medicines, and Mayer apparently left the scene in a minivan, the Italian news agency ANSA reported.

More at the link.

The events get crazier by the minute. Meyer crashed into a police barrier, leaving two cars completely damaged. He sits in the psychiatry for now. It is wasn't so terrible, it would make a great comesy

Love their outfits, actually. Go silver. First medal in 30 years. I am such a sucker for figure skating. It's my favorite winter Olympic sport.

How about that damned traitor who won the gold for Australia, and who said he didn't regret the fact that he left Canada and joined the Australian team, and who said that he didn't feel anything for the 4th place guy, a Canadian, whom he bumped off the podium? In of itself, that's nothing, but the accompanying smirk and the mock attitude that that rat had made him so, like, argh, totally fugly and stoopitt!

Davis 2nd, Hedrick 3rd behind Italian in 1,500

HAHAHA! soo glad Davis beat Hedrick. Little whiney bitch.

Congrats Enrico Fabris of Italy. :) well done.
================================
http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/torino ... &type=lgns

Davis came out on top in the smoldering rivalry between him and the brash-talking Hedrick by virtue of finishing higher in this race.
Each has a gold medal -- Davis in the 1,000 and Hedrick in the 5,000.
Hedrick was sixth in the 1,000 and Davis finished seventh in the 5,000.
The two aren't fond of each other and that was evident on the awards podium.
Hedrick smiled and half-heartedly waved his bouquet. Davis raised both arms, smiled and waved to the crowd.
Fabris jumped onto the top spot -- in the middle of the Americans -- and waved in all directions. After the bouquets were presented, Davis and Hedrick joined Fabris on the top spot. Davis tousled the Italian's hair and they talked to each other. Hedrick stared straight ahead. There was no traditional handshake between the medalists.

meh.

competent, but bit boring. silver of joy though after such a long time.

i wanted the bulgarians to get bronze ahead of the ukrainians coz their routine was as dull as hell! i'm all for clean skating and doing the right moves, but at least put a bit of personality into it.

speaking of outfits... I liked our couple's -

all scottishy- i'm pleased for them, getting into a top ten place... bring on vancouver!

It's Irina Slutskaya gold to lose. So just like in the past years a somewhat no-name skater will take the gold.

Well, Canada got lucky as hell today, but a win is a win so I'll take it. I would've liked it better if they actually deserved it though, heh.

Czechs are really suffering from no Hasek, sloppy Vokoun was their biggest problem today.

We can sneak away with the win this year. There are still chances for 7 more medals, at least half of them with a golden shine

Poor Michelle Kwan.

Unfortunately, she has never performed at the Olympics as she has elsewhere.

Anyway, not that I know that many of who is skating but I still would like Sasha Cohen to do well.

Always thought she was a nice skater when I have seen her individual performances.

nice, 1 down, 1 to go.

hope she holds up better than 4 years ago.

I was bored, and had just finished watching olympic coverage, so I went here:

http://www.tonyaharding.com

It was approved by Tanya herself, and I went to the forums there (on HER site) and she's getting not so flattering comments. But its quite interesting the bio that's up for her, as its quite funny to read.

Incredible!!! Klassen nabbed gold, and Groves nabbed silver in the women's 1,500 in speed skating!!!

Klassen now has one gold, two silvers and a bronze all from this olympics! She already beat the Canadian female record with 3, lol. Man, awesome stuff! And like Neostorm said, she still has 5,000m coming up, so it's a possible 5 medals total.

I'm happy to see Canada get 1 and 2 in that. Nice. We're up to 5 gold medals now, so we aren't too shabby anymore. And we have 17 medals total, which ties our record from the last Olympics! We'll easily get at least one more somewhere, making for a new record. We might not quite get 25 medals, but I'm still pretty happy.

PEACE, Mike.
