 2005-06 NBA Predictions and Discussion
well, another season of NBA Basketball is almost upon us, so i thought i'd start a thread where we can make our season predictions and discuss the NBA in general.
here are my top 4 in each conference
East
1.) Miami
2.) Detroit
3.) Indiana
4.) Cleveland
West
1.) San Antonio
2.) Phoenix
3.) Dallas
4.) Seattle
I think the Cavs are good for 50+ wins and have a shot at homecourt advantage in the 1st round. Larry Hughes and Lebron James should be fun to watch and Damon Jones and Donyell Marshall give the Cavs the 3-point shooting they desperately needed last year.
In the west, i still think San Antonio is the hands down favorite. THey look even more powerful now that they've added Michael Finley and Nick Van Exel.
who do you all think will be the best teams?

Why is Dallas so high in people's mind? Houston should be able to beat them this year with Swift at 4 and Howard backing him up, as well as the new point guard from Toronto.

This is the first time in awhile where I have not cared about the upcoming NBA season and that's mostly because the Celtics are in line to suck this year. Danny Ainge has made next to nothing in offseason deals, except for Scalabrini (Watch out!).
I don't know why, but my gut is telling me that the Rockets are going to do something this year. Last year I picked the Spurs to win it all, and this year I am going with the other Texas team.

Went to the Suns game last night... They played a damn good game til the 4th quarter... Then they just dropped the ball and gave it all away. They totally fell apart. Which isn't a good sign for the rest of the season.

yeah, they could struggle big time without Amare. They coughed up a big lead at home last night which is never a good sign.

I'm pretty sure they were up by almost 20 at one point in the 3rd quarter. Eddie House played a HUGE part in their success, but once they took him out they started to plummet. I think later in the season they'll realize that he's going to become the new Amare

It's kind of sad, that the only real reason why I will watch the Celtics this year is because of announcers Tommy Heinsohn and Mike Gorman. They've been the best part of the Celtics since they went into the shitter in the mid 90's. Who knows though? Maybe the new guys can actually get something together and win a few games this season. Hopefully they'll be a real contender in a couple of years (I'm getting tired of saying that).
New season begins in 8 minutes.
