I'm calling that if the Yankees win today then Boston will be the odd man out. Indians/Yankees/White Sox all finish with 97-65 records, while Boston is stuck with a 96-66 record. Shame really. Boston should move to the NL West .. or East.

Well, looks like there will be no changes in the standings today.

Come on people. The Indians aren't gonna win the Series. No way. Not after today.

Wait, so we lose once in five games and it's a sign that, ya know, we have no shot in the playoffs?

Let's fucking sink Yankee Stadium. Fenway will fall down on its own.

Oh, and by the way, our 3-4 record against the Devil Rays is better than your own 8-11 record against 'em

No, because you don't lose a game like that late in the season to the Royals. And we beat the D-Rays when it count.

I believe it was the Drays that knocked the Yankees out of the wildcard lead.

Uhuh.

Face it, New York, if you get "crushed" by the bad teams (Royals too, you guys are 3-3 against them, we're 11-5), what's to say that you guys aren't just getting lucky with the good teams?

Torrino there's no point in argueing with you. You think everyone of the Indians is a god and that they have no faults. I know the Yankees have faults, huge ones, but right now I'd take them over the Indians.

Royals and Drays have assumed the role of spoilers. Blue Jays as well. Teams like the Orioles and Tigers have given up so sweeping them is much easier. Hopefully the Tigers will show some life against the White Sox this week, though it's doubtful.

Um, why are you trying to say you're better than me? You're a fan, just like I am. And, when your team loses, you're disappointed and you find excuses. Read past pages of the thread.

It's the same thing we all do. When any fan's team's kicking butt, the fan doesn't go about it cynically ("haha they'll eventually lose!"), they're optimistic and PRAISE the team's god-like abilities.

It's amazing how the schedule sets up for the AL. All three divisions are undecided, and all three divisions will have the top two teams playing each other in the final week of the season, and even better, besides AL East, which is currently tied, both AL Central and West have the second place team playing at home for those matches, and thus increase the chance of catching up. This is unbelievable.

OK My offical prediction: Boston wins 5 out of 7 and Yankees win 4 of 7 with Boston getting Division. Clevland gets the division and Chicago gets the wild card. LA gets the division. Which would mean Clevland and Chicago; LA and Boston with Boston and Clevland winning then of course Boston going to the series. Of course with NL I say St. Louis and Philly in championship; Rolen with game winning run to take em to the the series.

In the series, it would be carpenter vs schilling with schilling winning;mulder vs wells with mulder winning; Suppan vs Clement with Suppan emerging victorious; Morris vs. Arroyo with Morris winning; back to carpenter vs schilling with schilling winning again but in game 6 with mulder vs wells Boston will be up by 2 going into the ninth with no good closer and give up the game winning home run to Pujols. The Cardinals win the series with Pujols as the MVP

Well Timlin as a closer is good but not good enough to close it into a game seven. If not Puljos then Edmonds,Rolen, or Renteria will hit the game winner. I love Boston and want to see them win but without Lowe and Pedro this yea they will lose in six games

Fine by me. I would love for Renteria to hit a game winning home run in the World Series. It would make up for the mediocre year he has had.

They needed that game, and I hope Sizemore losing that ball in the sun doesn't come back to haunt the Tribe. They needed to win, and would only be 1 game back if they had won that game. This day off (that the White Sox aren't getting) could be very key to the final series of the year.

Well they should've won that game, and the White Sox should've won this one. So we'd be two back anyways. Hopefully Detroit has another one in them. Need to get it down to 1 before Friday.

We have to win tonight's game.

Seriously. If we don't, I'm thinking we have no shot at the playoffs unless we get the division. New York's too hot right now and come on, how likely is it that New York doesn't make the playoffs?
