I just hope maybe in the January window, we can sign him permantly. The loan ends next summer and the quicker we buy him, the cheaper it would cost. Yes, Mido played and as usual, he was the best player in the Egyptian team. I'm glad he's popular right now, I was very happy that he scored the first goal for Tottenham this season (but then again, when I watched the goal multiple times, I think it was actually an own goal). I really hope he stays in Tottenham, Mido's main problem was that he changed teams too much. Ajax, Roma, Marseille, Tottenham, in only 3 seasons. He even played 3 months in Spain, and I can't remember the team he played for. That was Celta. He was considered to be very talented but also kind of childish and very mercurial and volatile. He was also very young back then, though.
Don't forget he's still only 22.

Essien is officially a Chelsea player - £26million. What a waste of money.
Freddi Kanoute has joined Sevilla from Spurs - £4.4million

French turned Mali international. Striker, Scored 22goals out of 71 appearances for Spurs. Excellent player, holds up the play well, first touch is usually perfect, very skillful, on his day . . . . . he's as good as Henry. But the problem he had at Spurs was he was very inconsistant. Also the managment wasn't very happy when he went to play in the Africans nations cup, when we were struggling. BUT a top-class player nevertheless.

Yeah he is a good player, but £26 million? No way.
If Chelsea were not interested in him, I think Arsenal would have got him for around £14-15 million.
What was Lyon's justification of the price? "If you were willing to pay £33million for Gerrard, then why can't you coff up for Essien?" Gerrard imo is far better, for all we know Essien could crash and burn in the premiership.

Essien had many offers from many teams like real madrid, and lyon were refusing to let him go, chelsea are very lucky to get such a price.
and they payed almost as much for shite drogba.

Drogba i wouldn't say is shite, but then again he is totally unworthy of his valuation. As with Shaun Wright-Phillips = £21million. What a joke. You know Arsenal who were also after him, had him valued at £6million, they bidded that much and were rejected and thus did not raise their price. Chelsea valued him at £8million, then £11m, then £19m then purchased at £21m.
Look at Chelsea's Essien bid history. I think it was 11, 14, 20, 22.5, 24, purchase at 26. Bullshit Lyon refused to let him go, they didn't give a damn and fair play to them, they stalled Chelsea long enough to get the best price.
Guti, who would you rate higher? Ronaldinho or Shevchenko?

According to a spanish newspaper, Newcastle are just about to sign Luque, from Deportivo... quite a good striker, I think It´d be a great signing.

Thanks a lot guti for the goal, another favourite of mine, Bergcamp is a genius.
But unlike you, I think Drogba is a good striker. I believe he's the reason why Egypt was kicked out of the next world cup, he scored 1 goal in the away game, and 2 goals in the home game
BTW guti, how is the Jordanian national team doing at the moment? I watched the majority of the Asian cup last year, and your team was AWESOME. You deserved at least the semi-final, but what can we say? Stupid penalties.
Is El-Gohari still coaching?

Quote: Guti, who would you rate higher? Ronaldinho or Shevchenko?
Ronaldinho is well......Ronaldinho he is very good and over-rated a bit, and shevchenco is one of the best strikers in the last decade, but atm his form isnt good, so right now i would go with ronaldinho but overall shevchenko.
what do you think???

Yes, I remember that match quite well, I was watching it with 3 friends, and we almost smashed the tv after the last penalty missed. I wonder what you did in Jordan. Those were hands down, the weirdest penalties I've seen. But I never blame players for missing penalties, I have yet to find a player who hasn't missed a penalty.
