Revenge of the Sith continues to beat Attack of the Clones, which dropped -9.8% on the same day. :)

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants won't top $12 million, as I was thinking earlier this week.

I, for one, am disappointed by Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. About $12M should be in order for the weekend.

Essentially ROTS has been falling nearly exactly the same as AOTC. I think it should be pretty easy to project ROTS, unless it's Friday increase into the weekend is way different.

Tuesday Drop:
AOTC: 70.8%
ROTS: 70.3%

Wednesday Drop:
AOTC: 9.8%
ROTS: 9.1%

PEACE, Mike ;)

Actually, you know what? It's only the beginning of June and many, many schools are still not out.

I'm not willing to count out Sisterhood yet. Depending on how it does today, I think it could still manage $14-15M.

Hmmm....O.K start for SISTERHOOD, I was expecting around $10M-$13M this weekend, so looks about right.

I do, however expect legs to be good, and this one could reach over $40,000,000 eventually.

Not bad for everything else....

House of Wax lasted 26 days inside the top 10.

WhiteNoise lasted 21.
Boogeyman lasted 19.
HideandSeek lasted 21.

So not bad for HOUSE OF WAX. Plus it passed $30M. So i'm happy :)

Nice numbers overall I think Sisterhood can still get $14 million this weekend. Sith continues to perform pretty well again a slightly better drop then AOTC experienced.

Well, BEAUTY SHOP is a similar movie which opened on a wednesday this year.

It grossed $2,073,722 from 2,659 for a $780 PTA.

SISTERHOOD grossed slightly more with a better PTA.

BEAUTY SHOP went on to make $12,801,465 for the 3 day. And $16,647,604 for the 5 days.

I don't see why SISTERHOOD can't top at least $15,000,000 5 day.

The difference being that Beauty Shop didn't open in the summer, so the weekdays are weaker and the friday increase was stronger, and it was an "urban" film. Sisterhood, being released in the summer and a teenage girl film, will not increase near as much as Beauty Shop did on friday, in my opinion.

PEACE, Mike ;)

Hmm...Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants could have a good weekend. Many schools in my area do not get out until mid-June. Plus all the ads in theaters have its release date as JUNE 3rd not 1st like it opened on.

I'm sure it can do better than this, but a 91% Fri increase is pretty generous...

Thur: $1.99 (-7%)
Fri: $3.79 (+91%)
Sat: $4.55 (+20%)
Sun: $3.14 (-31%)

3-Day: $11.5

Even the Sat increase is very generous for a chick flick in the summer. The Notebook dropped quite a bit on its first Saturday.

I don't see Friday's increase to be much higher than what White Chicks got, if at all. WC was deeper into the summer, but it also received 314 theater expansion on Friday. Sisterhood should also drop about 20% on Thursday, as both WC and Shrek 2 did.

Well it looks like Showbizdata got the numbers wrong again. They have Sith at 4.2 mil yesterday and Lee's Movie Info has Sith at 4.16 mil.

Eh, 854 PTA for Sisterhood. That's pretty weak. I thought for some reason since there's nothing for 10-15 year old girls anywhere on the top ten, it would be guaranteed quite a turnout. Big surprise..I thought wrong.

Yes Sisterhood is pretty weak and looking like it wll only do 10-13m on the weekend. But I'm not editing my guess since it feels a little like cheating to change it after the Wed. number comes out.
