Multipliers for Top 10 movies from 1995 to 2004
Made this chart for dolce's thread, but as that thread have a different topic, thought this deserve it's own. So, here it is.
For movies that opened before weekend, I've used DP's method. Substracted that gross from total, and that 'total' divided by weekend.
A - gross before opening weekend
B - opening weekend (wide)
C - total
D - total-gross before opening weekend
E - multiplier (D/opening weekend)

Oh yes, for My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Chicago, I used 'wide' opening weekends listed at Mojo. August 2nd for MBFGW and January 26th (I think) for Chicago.

Great great job, Nebs! Thank you!
Some things I have noticed:
Ace Ventura 2 had a surprisingly bad multiplier back in 1995.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding's multiplier is insane. I know it's hard to determine when it went wide, but still...
The Sixth Sense and Something about Mary also both had surprisingly great multipliers.
The only non-animated and non-Best Picture nominated movies to hit the 5-multiplier are:
Jumanji
Se7en
Independance Day
Twister
The Nutty Professor
The Birdcage
A Time to Kill
Liar Liar
My Best Friend's Wedding
Armageddon
There's Something about Mary
Patch Adams
The Phantom Menace
The Matrix
Cast Away
What Women Want
Meet the Parents
What Lies Beneath
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Elf
Meet the Fockers
If you take the December releases and the family films out of it, you're not left with much...
Of that list, only these opened to $30+ million:
Independance Day (opened in July)
Twister (opened in May)
Liar Liar (opened in March)
Armageddon (opened in July)
The Phantom Menace (opened in May)
What Women Want (opened in December)
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (opened in July)
Elf (opened in November)
Meet the Fockers (opened in December)
Only four non-Best Picture nominated and non-animted Top 10 movies got a multiplier of 5+ since 2001.

Thats interesting about MBFGW. Wide is usually defined as 1000+, it didn't hit that until w/e 8/16. In fact I thought I had seen that statement somewhere on BOM, but I can't find it.
Still leaves it with an insane 42.36 multiplier on the latter number.

Titanic's 20.97 multiplier from an almost $30 million opening is amazing.

awesome, Iexpect 05 to be in the 4.5-5.0 range. So far film have been performing exceptionaly well as long as they are not hard core action/horror flicks.

Good info, Nebs. =D>
I think your JP2 is off. It was released on a Friday. If anything you should take out only $2.7M from Thursday night previews instead of $26.8M.

It opened on Memorial day weekend. That must be the four day weekend tally. Bad multiplier for Ace Ventura in the year of 1995.
