Post Jurassic Park's Amazing Fortnight
Hi,

I was looking at JP's performance, and I'm amazed at how well the film did overall, but especially during its first two weeks. The film's hold both during the weekends and the weekdays is simply amazing.

Take a look at its run (adjusted, obviously):

Day 7 (Thu) : $11,714,976 | 7.22% | 2,425 | $4,831 | $126,326,547
Day 8 (Fri) : $16,802,350 | 43.43% | 2,437 | $6,895 | $143,128,897
Day 9 (Sat) : $23,997,975 | 42.83% | 2,437 | $9,847 | $167,126,871
Day 10 (Sun) : $18,648,348 | -22.29% | 2,437 | $7,652 | $185,775,219
Day 11 (Mon) : $10,002,296 | -46.36% | 2,437 | $4,104 | $195,777,515

Neo, it's JP1's adjusted gross, not the actual amount.

TLW's Op. 3-day, btw, is $100.4m adjusted :)

The good old days, when a film could break the weekend record and get a multiplier over 7.

Then again, they couldn't open with 100m+. :D

It's the only pre-1997 movie without any re-releases that remains in the top 10. Amazingly, though, E.T. would still be slightly ahead of it unadjusted even after you take away the re-releases.

Jurassic Park will soon be bumped out of the top 10 by RotS, 12 years after its release. I wonder what the top 10 will look like 12 years from now...

That is amazing, too bad the movie wasn't very good thought it was for when it was made.

When it was made? You speak as if it was produced in 1937.

It was one of the first movies to use HUGE special effects.

You said it was good for when it was made. I don't understand your comment. How old were you in 1993?
