The Longest Yard had an amazing 3-day weekend. Almost everyone underestimated Sandler's drawing power...again.

The Longest Yard Estimate Breakdown:
Friday - $16,500,000
Saturday - $17,300,000 (+4.8%)
Sunday - $16,300,000 (-5.8%)
I think they're overestimating a bit to get a 3-day of $50 mil, but that's just me.
PEACE, Mike

Welcome to America! \:D/
Anyways, congrats, I guess, though I have about as much respect and admiration for Sandler as I do for the average sponge.

Ridiculous. Thats for 3 day? Wow.
With 32 after 2 days a 16 average
Is it possible to increase by 18 or an extra 2 on Sunday.
Why is it going to do more on Sunday than Saturday??????????????????
I don't think so - Something seems wrong.

Not increased based on estimate...just Brandon twisted a bit numbers so their sum could be what studio gave as weekend estimate.
Better believe it'll be lower couple of millions.

It'll drop more than 5.8% on Sunday, but yeah, it's still a great weekend with $49 million.

It looks like this may be the only weekend estimate coming in (studios don't usually have the estimates today). Projections anyone? xiayun?

On the other thread. I'm amazed myself how close my projections are after two days of data comparing to the ones with only Friday's data.
The Longest Yard could definitely have a less than 10% drop today, as pretty much every movie will do.

What do you expect from a crappy film that shouldn't have been released. (Mindhunters)
I don't see TLY holding up so well over the weekend. The 50 million estimate 3day seems generous.

The Longest Yard's 3-day estimate will most likely not hold, but seriously, this will go on to gross over $150 million.
The WOM is great.

Its possible that Sith is the only movie to break $50m for the 3 day numbers.

Ridiculous TLY weekend.
Huge for The Longest Yard. Great hold for Monster-in-Law. Awful for Hitchhiker's. Bad drop for Mindhunters after its sub 50% fall last weekend, but was expected due to loss of theaters along with Hitchhiker's.
