They're usually very accurate on Friday, and when you have two sources that have the same numbers, I think we're good.

Awful for Kicking & Screaming. They really should've released this in April.
On the other hand, look at frigging Crash!
Monster-in-Law and The Interpreter continue to post solid legs.

I don't doubt that these are real. I'm just saying that SBD is not the most reliable source anymore.

That was just incredible for Kicking & Screaming. A tiny 30% Friday increase after an over 300% increase last week. I know it's going to be hit hard, but that's ridiculous. Not even Cinderella Man's sneaks can save it now.

After rethinking it, you people saying Sith tops the weekend are probably right.

I predict Star Wars Episode III and Madagascar will end up within 2 million of eachother in the 4-Day weekend.
Kicking and Screaming is going to have one of the worst multipliers ever for a family movie. It picked the absolute worst release date!

Man, I still can't believe TLY has done that well.
Well, anyway, that's an increase of about 70% for ROTS.
I think that the Saturday increases for all films will be lower then other years because of the high weekday numbers sthis week. It's not by chance that AOTC had a larger increase even with weaker legs. It had the weaker weekday numbers meaning it increased more into the weekend.
I also wonder with the theater count changes whether any movies increased by less then 50% Friday.

Actually Sith's Friday increase is more along the lines of The Phantom Menace which increased 75%.

That's ugly. I knew there would be some low increases based on the weekday numbers. K&S got killed by Madagascar. Why release a family film in early May when it won't have such great weekdays, and it will get killed by competition? It was the worse release date of the year IMO.

I can't believe the holds MONSTER IN LAW is having! Well actually I can. It wasn't a very good movie but it's playing quite well to most audiences. I don't really find the film funny or even good but many people do, so it's having amazing word of mouth. I wish Jennifer Lopez had a hit outside the romantic comedy genre, ANGEL EYES and THE CELL were both amazing films but they didn't make very much at the box office, unlike her romantic comedy films. CRASH is also holding amazing still! It's overrated but it's still a damn good film with amazing performances. It could have been much better if the writing wasn't so cheesy! STAR WARS did good but I thought it would have held a little better. The drop shouldn't be too harsh this weekend, which is a good thing. $300 million here we come!! Both new releases did well, THE LONGEST YARD I said would be big but not many people listened. I didn't think MADAGASCAR would be very big but I guess I was wrong. Oh well, maybe this one will actually have big drops, I haven't heard very many good things about it.

isn't there someone saying something like this EVERY SINGLE WEEK?
I figured The Longest Yard would do better than Madagascar...I just didn't know it would do THAT well.

Damn, I thought K&S would be able to have a decent hold this weekend.
Otherwise, mostly good for my Derby (I'm low on TLY, but who isn't?), and great numbers for each of the top three. No one should have any doubt that RotS will easily clear $350 million now.

When was the last time 3 films were so close on Friday? Only other week I can think of is Stuart Little 2, MIB 2, and Road to Perdiction. However that was on a much smaller scale.

You may win the box office battle this week.
But your support of The Longest Yard means you've lost the war.

I have to say, that even if it has not entirely lived up to its potential, Madagascar will reach 200m.
