I'm surprised by those numbers (if they're accurate) but I think ep3 will take the lead over the rest of the weekend. I would think LY would be more front loaded and drop each of the next 3 days.

dougny is actually extremely reliable. A couple of weeks ago, he reported KOH's 7 million Friday gross, and everyone was like "no way", but he was right on the money

Based on this,

$76M ROTS
$65M Madagascar
$58M TLY

That is an excellent hold for ROTS when two other movies opened with around $15M. The increases for ROTS will be high for Saturday.

Esentially, my predictions will be close with Sith and Madagascar, but I went too low on The Longest Yard.

Impressive performances for all three films.

I think this weekend has a good chance at breaking the record for biggest aggragated weekend.

I blame BOP for these numbers.

If they'd stick with their usual SW hating and predicted normally (for them) $50m 4-day weekend, ROTS would have $25m friday. ;)

they look about right, cept a little high for Madagascar. I didn't think it was gonna top $12M today. Revenge Of The Sith should be able to beat it over the 3 day weekend, but Madagascar might take the 4 day.

If those numbers are accurate, I think Madagascar will pull ahead for the weekend.
It's family friendly, even more so than Sith, plus it is only 1hr 20 mins, so the numbers of showtimes is huge.
Wow, everybody underpredicted The Longest Yard!

I am actually slightly disappointed by Sith numbers... looking at Thursday numbers, I was expecting around 18 million or so.

Interesting numbers, at least as a starting ballpark. I'll wait for SBD and BOM though.

The Longest Yard will be number 3 for the 3-day and 4-day grosses.

HA to all of the people that said MADAGASCAR wouldn't do that well and would make under 50 Million for the 3-Day weekend . But that offensive, unfunny-looking piece-of-mainstream crap THE LONGEST YARD did way too much!

He may be a reliable source, but I'll still wait. Even so, if that is true for Sith, it is a great number. Saturday should increase by about 40% to about 22 mill.

I don't think anyone said Madagascar would do poorly, we just said that it would not do outlandish numbers like 100 mill for the 4 day. This means that it should do about 50-55 mill for the three day and about 70 for the 4. Not that big of a deal.

That sounds right. Saturday increases for TPM and AOTC were 42 and 45 percent respectively.

So i was correct in assuming friday increases would be lower due to an inflated thursday (if the numbers hold of course).

Wow.

Even if The Longest Yard is #3, it'll still be shocking. I wouldn't have thought there'd be room for all three movies...

Unless the holdovers (outside of ROTS) have huge falls.

It'll make around $55m for the weekend. Madagascar should crack $63m or so. Episode III will win. Maybe around $70m.

Excellent # for TLY, but I hope it drops for the next 3 days. Right now, i would think Madagascar is poised to take the 3-day and 4-day

Different crowds for each.

Plus TLY had a nice mix - Sandler has his fans - and then - Chris Rock and Nelly - which got the ........................

Madagascar will come out on top me thinks. Movies geared towards children and families traditionally have a much stronger weekend multiplier.

AOTC 4.7 and TPM 4.95 were equal to or better than any family movies multipliers.

Well a lot of people were saying it would disappoint and not do 50 Million, and as for the people I'm talking about that said it wouldn't do that well I'm talking about the people who say it won't make 200 Million, but it's obvious it will.
