It's funny how Carrie was the first decent singer they showed during auditions and now she has gone and won the whole damn thing. Well deserved.
I really liked that performance with all the contestants and the famous musicians and damn it if those final performances by the winner don't get me a little choked up (well, maybe not for Ruben and Fantasia =; ).

Did anyone else think overall that was a better finale than previous years? I did, even though it was dragged out. That "Crimetime Live" thing was hilarious!

Yeah, although the show annoys me (I like the singing, hate the in-between), they know how to do these finales. The "expose" was kinda funny. At least they're in on the joke.
But, yeah. I was rooting for Carrie, so...
I'm happy. =D> :grin:

This was pretty predictable and you knew Underwood was going to win just based on how Elegantly dressed she was.. No one would lose a competition like this all decked out the way she was VS The way Bo Bice was dressed like a hoosier or something.. The whole thing is fixed and she knew she won days ago.. Let's hope next season, FOX gets rid of Paula Abdul and replaces her with someone who will let Simon Cowell actually speak and give his opinion since that is why people tune into this show is for Simon, not Paula or Randy Jackson..

There were a few funny moments in the finale, but it definitely did not warrant two hours of TV. After the hour long show yesterday watching Bo and Carrie sing 3 song apiece and the 2 hour today - I am all Idol'ed out!
In the end it probably will help Bo not to win. I'm not sure his credibility as a rocker could withstand being forced to record one of those sappy/crappy original songs. Those songs fit Carrie better.

Yeah, that was the best part of the finale. LaToya drunk or high or dying or something. Showed more personality in those brief moments she was on the camera tonight than during a whole season last year. Bravo Latoya. Bravo.

Simon went on every talk show and said Ruben was by far the greater singer and Clay should go to Broadway. I don't have AI2 on DVD, but I remember when watching it that all of the judges ripped Clay's performance of This is the Night and they loved Ruben's Flying Without Wings. Then after Clay sang Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Simon said something like "That put you back in the competition and might have given you the win." But then on the results show, he said both of them were tied and the real winner will be who sells the most records (Clay). I just hope next season Simon won't tell us who is the winner so early like he did this year. :wink:
