I actually wasn't surprised that he nitpicked the movie, either, considering that he was always trying to drag it's success chances down. MG Casey, all I can say is, that I won't be looking to you as a credible source for predictions, because you project your personal opinion on the masses and throw out logic and reason in the process. When you stop doing that, I'll take you more seriously.
I don't hate Star Wars! I just don't understand how people can't see how bland they are! The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite movie of all-time, above any Lord of the Rings movie. I still enjoyed ROTS, though there were a lot of little things I found very stupid.
If there was no one who was predicting low or negative for ROTS, it would be fanboy central at WOKJ. I'm just here to balance it out.

No, you are right. I never did that. And when TTT opened well and just kept going, I didn't come around telling all that it is just a hiccup and it will come back down to earth and not cross 264.

Well, thanks for trying to balance things out, but I think we'd all prefer the agenda to be reasonable and thoughtout predictions. If it means it's fanboy central, then so be it. I'm not going to start shouting out that Lords of Dogtown will make $300M (or even $100M) just to bring balance to the force.
As far as not understanding why people don't think like you do about Star Wars, that probably has something to do with everybody being different, which is what you seem to throw out the window completely when making your prediction. That's never a good thing to do, and it's why you are getting the ribbing right now, but there does come a time when the horse is being beat long after it died.

You brought up LOTR, not me, but since it seemed to be at the root of your discontent, I figured I would respond. Derby and box office games, in which people gather up a consensus and tweak them one way or the other slightly, really don't make somebody a good predictor. I've never been impressed by that.
If MG Casey wants to quit discrediting himself as a predictor, he'll quit with the silliness, otherwise, how could you expect anybody to take him seriously just because he copy and pastes and tweaks?

Guys, MG Casey is not a bad predictor. Everyone gets something wrong once in a while. We don't even know if he's right or not yet, but it just seems that MG has been against Sith performing well. Even after the $50 million opening day, he STILL said it wouldn't hit $300 million until he saw the weekend numbers. So, it's not like he's a bad predictor. You have to adjust your prediction from time to time. My final prediction before the numbers came out were $340 million, and now, I'm saying around $375-400 million (jumpin' around a bit). That doesn't make anyone a bad predictor.
Track records mean nothing to me. Everyone loses once in a while.

Now that kinda makes me mad. I make endless spreadsheets analyzing daily numbers and theater counts and such to make my predictions. I don't look at anyone else's.
And I'm not beating a horse that's already dead. What day of Star Wars have we seen? Hmm.. it seems we are on Day 6. That's about the end of its run! Wait...

I have to COMPLETELY disagree with you there, Mav. MG always gives his predictions before anyone else does. I know, since I run one of the games. He's always one of the first to submit. And, it's hard to copy a prediction of $75 million for Spongebob...

It shouldn't make you mad, and people saying Revenge of the Sith is the greatest movie ever shouldn't make you sick, either. You're beating a dead horse, and it's not looking good for you to do that, but if you want to continue, be my guest.
