Post Thursday Numbers
1 STAR WARS: EPISODE III - REVENGE OF THE SITH $50,013,859 -- / $13,661 $50,013,859
2 MONSTER-IN-LAW $1,485,000 (estimate) -5.4% / $434 $29,660,000
3 KICKING AND SCREAMING $690,855 -4.8% / $200 $23,475,005
4 CRASH $541,727 -7.5% / $289 $22,102,805
5 UNLEASHED $466,000 (estimate) -19.9% / $238 $13,726,754
6 KINGDOM OF HEAVEN $406,495 -33.5% / $142 $37,681,207
7 HOUSE OF WAX $327,992 -11.9% / $109 $23,624,420
8 THE INTERPRETER $251,125 -25.9% / $125 $62,492,465
9 THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY $202,309 -39.2% / $92 $44,847,749
10 MINDHUNTERS $105,000 (estimate) -31.4% / $101 $2,556,322

Two openers are holding up pretty well. So is Crash. And my pretty low $2.2M prediction for Hitchhiker seems too high now.

I'm already curious about Friday's numbers.
I don't know what to expect, I only hope it will very good and promising. [-o<
But at least it already got records in the pocket. Don't know now for how long, but at least SW did it.

Hmm.

I predicted 53 for opening day ... a bit too high ...

Freaking Scott V nailed this right on the head with his opening weekend predictions

Wow! Impressive. I guess the box office isn't dead after all and Hollywood will likely continue to make movies.

50 million opening day? OK, that's just orgasmic right there! \:D/

It makes the graveyard shift I pulled for our 24-hour Sith marathon on Wednesday all worth it.
