Yeah, anything showing past 3am is ridiculous imo. I doubt showings like that help the theatre in ne way other than keeping workers up late.

My 18-screen theater in Albany, NY

7 12:01 shows, all sold out

We have 7 prints of Star Wars. We'll have showtimes at least every half hour from 10 AM all the way to 11 PM on Thursday, and for Friday and Saturday, we will have shows from 9 AM to 12:30 AM, no shared screens

LOL, well at that time I think it could be considered waking up workers too early

Not true.

Even before I got into my 12a.m. showing, there were people lining up for the 3a.m. show. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm a sucker for first day first shows, I would have gone to the 3am show. I would have gotten some rest, watched the movie and went straight to work.

I believe my cinema kept 2 or 3 screens open for the 3am show. No more.

The theater I went to last night had it showing on 5 screens at 12:01 am. I'm not sure how many sold out, but there were only about 5-10 empty seats in the theater that I was in, which seated around 250 people.

I have some reports for you.

Square One cinemas in Toronto, 6:40 show- sold out
7:10 show- sold out
9:00 show sold out

In my theater, the 6:40 show, it was a rousing success judging byt the ovation it got at the end of the show. The second time I saw this film, I liked it even more. Very emotional near the end. I see massive numbers for Saturday.

I miss going to Square One for movies, although the theatre inside Square One isn't as good as the one in the corner, Coliseum Mississauga - that's my favourite.

Oh topic? Star Wars sold out the 7pm (the one I was in) and the 10pm (I saw it coming out) at the theatre I saw it in tonight.

I'm seeing STAR WARS again at 6:30. I'm not expecting it to be sold out but it should be close.

Okay, so I'm a geek....

I was driving by the Queensway in Toronto, now keep in mind, tomorrow is a holiday here,s o business is still going to be booming, and I stopped in and asked the ticket guy how business was for sW today...he was ncie enough to fill me in.

Noon show- 50% full
12:15 show- about 40% full
1pm show- about 55% full
1:30- about the same
3 pm show- about 50% full
3:30- about 80% full
4pm show- about 90% full
4:15:- sold out
6- sold out
7pm still selling at 6:30 and about 80% full
9pm show was already about 60% full

So it was another brisk day of business for SW.....Sunday looks good.
