Wow. That was one of the best nights of singing in American Idol history. After that display I think Bo and Carrie are in a dead heat, with perhaps Bo a little ahead after that fantastic stripped down performance. I loved Carrie's first song and thought it was one of the best vocals of the season. Vonzell was basically just "good" through all three songs, never managing to burst out and maintaining her status quo that she has kept during much of the competition.

I agree 100%, except that I thought that Vonzell's first song was very pitchy. And Bo is just a smidgon ahead.

This was a very good night for the participants, much better than last years final three. There isn't a Jasmine to be found.

First performance
1. Carrie
2. Bo
3. Vonzell

Second performance
1. Bo
2. Vonzell
3. Carrie

Third Performance
1. Vonzell
2. Carrie
3. Bo

So yeah, they were pretty even in my eyes. Even though I would like to see Bo get eliminated tomorrow night - just think of the Paula hysterics! I see Vonzell going leaving us the final two that everyone assumed back when the finals started some 8 weeks ago. Bo and Carrie.

Bo has a dark past too...

Bah. It'd be kinda hypocritical if they don't kick Bo off, even though this won't get much press. I mean, they kicked Frenchie off for porn...

They were wrong to kick off Frenchie though, I would hope they see that and are less idiotic now. Plus, this isn't porn, Americans liek their porn in hotels were it snot traced back to them.

Of course they were wrong in kicking off Frenchie...

She probably would've won and it would've stopped the constant Ruben pimping...

Aiken sucked.

He's a little more interesting than Anthony. But, he always sounded the same. He just knew how to belt out glory notes.

Bo's second song was one of the best I've ever seen on AI just for the sheer balls it took for him to do that.

Couldn't watch it, so I downloaded the tracks for Bo and Carrie...

Bo:
1st Song: B+ (Pitchy in the beginning...)
2nd Song: A+ (Beautiful. I think we've all said enough...)
3rd Song: B (Kind of uninspired. Still, he's got a great voice and it's spontaneous enough to keep me thrilled during the song)

Carrie:
1st Song: A (Great. It's nice when she gets a little more involved in what she's singing...)
2nd Song: B (She started out very well and somehow got lost in the transition...)
3rd Song: B+ (*shriek*...Seemed like a carbon copy of the original. Yeah, there were new things, but I couldn't distinguish how she sang each note from Twain's...)

Vonzell:
Chain of Fools (which number was this?): A (Balanced pitch. Loads of energy. And, she showed some respect for the material...)

Yet he has been the most successful idol contestant of them all. Go figure.

As for tonight, this is Bo's competition to lose. He was simply amazing. Both Carrie and Vonzell are basically tied for second. Having said that, Vonzell will sadly get the boot tomorrow although I wish it was Carrie instead.

Agreed with both these points.

Let's remember Clay didn't even win. I still see him far more than the actual winner. Talk Shows/Specials/Albums/Dr Phil/The Disney ABC Christmas Special/Bla, Bla, Bla. I see Clay far more. The only thing I ever saw the winner on was a weight loss program on Entertainment Tonight last fall.

Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken (not the winner) have remained in the public far more than the others. I have not seen the other two on much of anything since the ends of the show.

WOW, everyone gave absolutely great performances. Well, Vonzell's first one is kinda off to me.

I think it's pretty much a done deal: Carrie vs. Bo. But I would love a surprise!

Uhh...where have you been?

Bo was the best.

I'd prefer to see Carrie go home, though she was better than Vonzell last night. Just last night.

1st Performance

Vonzell: B
Bo: A
Carrie: A

2nd Performance

Vonzell: B+
Bo: A+
Carrie: A-

3rd Performance

Vonzell: B+
Bo: B+
Carrie: B+

Vonzell Soloman

I think we're all thinking the same thing when it comes to Vonzell. She's sweet and fun, but at this point, her number's up. When she's pited against the likes of Bo and Carrie, her biggest flaw becomes apparant: her voice does not bring a distinctive flair to any of her material. Her renditions of "I'll Never Love Thie Way Again", "Chain of Fools", and "On the Radio" were all competant and credible, but so what? This is a competition about finding a recording artist, and frankly, the only way she'll be heard on the radio (pun intended) is if she replaces that cow-faced girl in Destiny's Child.

Bo Bice

I wish I had waited until today to compile my favorite Idol performances, because Bo's haunting a cappela (did I spell that right?) rendition of Badland's "Within A Dream" is the kind of star-making performance that transcends the competition. After looking back to a few few weeks ago, when he was spotted bowing to Fantasia after her return to the show (the same way a minon bows to his Queen), it's now clear what he what he was saying: "Girl, you da bomb, but your crown and septor will be mine come May 25!"

Carrie Underwood

Some people say that Carrie is a fembot. To them I say Pah! Her rendition of "Cryin'" was original and heart-felt, AND more then enough to proclaim that this blond from Oklahoma has soul. Ditto for "Making Love Out of Nothing at All", which made me take issue with Simon's comment that she was running out of air supply (pun overload, I know) in the middle. Although the selection did come off as a bit calculating in the sense that it was a bit of a rehash of her brilliant take on Heart's "Alone", I think it was one of her more vibrant performances. She didn't outshine Bo, but -- like Simon said -- it was enough to give her one more shot.

I think in the end, everyone did well. There were no Jasmine Trais or Nikki McKibbin style-stinkers in the mix. But, in the end, Baby V's has got to go!

FYI: Every Idol who performed first in the final three round (Nikki McKibbin, Kimberley Locke, and Jasmin Trias) was sent packing the following night :-k

The next one will probably begin January 2006, but they search a couple months before that.

Jesus...with those kinds of ratings, why on Earth would they wait so long? I was considering watching the next one, but I'm not sure if time is on my side.

Not sure...maybe so it won't get old fast?
