Thursday = Biggest day ever? But it's a frigging Thursday!

I still think Friday will be bigger if the movie is good. Nuts will simply go again + mainstream crowd.

Because of the midnight shows, Thursday will be bigger than Friday.

Nah, I think it'll have around $38 million on Thursday, and around $32-33 million on Friday.

Thu. around 38-42
Fri. around 28-32

Everything depends on the number of theaters.

Thursday will be at the low end of the $40 million range.
But Friday will be in the $30m's

Trust me, ALOT of people who see it on Thursday will see it again on Friday and drag their friends or family to it too and quite possibly see it a third time this weekend and I'm not just talking about the Star Wars freaks, even regular fans of the film (not to make fun of or insult anyone).

Maybe I'm reading too much into the reviews (even though I'm not even reading reviews) but all the positive buz may be giving me wrong pretenses... maybe it is only on par with Clones' hype or just a tad higher.

Well now at Tigard 11 it's on three screens, and only two at the Lloyd Center 18. :???: However, it's on four at the Cedar Hills 16, and since it has screens about half the size has sold out two.

I mean, that's about right.. It's showing on 3 screens at my theatre to which is perfect I think.. Anymore and that's just bloody overkill.. Lucas just needs to make damn sure he opens this baby up on the Maximum 4000 screens or at least close and doesn't pull this bullshit like he did with AOTC.. :-k

Nevermind actually, I thought I could only tell if the shows were sold out based on if they went gray. #-o Tigard has sold out two of it's three midnight shows, Lloyd Center has sold out one of it's two, and Broadway has yet to sell out it's one. Nevermind, I was seriously worried there, but that's closer to my expectations. :)

Yeah that is a bit excessive.. Christ, if I just happen to be off work one of these nights, going to a movie at 5:00AM is the last thing I'm thinking about..

This is what one person wrote at TheForce.net forum...

I am new here, but I found something rather interesting when I went on-line to by my ROTS tickets for the midnight screening. 19 of the 24 screens at the theater I am attending are already sold out, and they have started selling tickets to a 3:30 am screening as well. I called the theater, and they were only origanally goinf to show ROTS on 6 screens, but have had to get additional copies in order to meet the overwelming demand. They are expecting to sell out all 24 screens, and they think they might even sell out a few 3:30 am screenings. I know for a fact that this theater did not sell out all 6 screens for the midnight AOTC, and I think they only sold out 12 screens for TPM. I'm no genius, but it seems to me that this movie is already on a blistering pace, and with all of the positive reviews, and the likely positive word-of-mouth, ROTS should d extreamly well! Just an observation, but if any of you do not believe what I am saying, just check out the Lenox Town Center AMC 24 in Columbus Ohio at Movietickets.com. I think you find that there are many other theaters around the country with similar results. GL just may a have a BO monster on his hands......

Nice

Well, that person is wrong about the Lennox not selling out six screens for AotC, because I was there and I'm sure they showed it on at least a dozen screens at midnight. For TTT and RotK they used all 24 screens but I don't remember for sure if that was the case for AotC...
